Hi Rick finished a resto on my V6 gtv last year and I had my callipers refurbished at Bigg red and I was like a little boy at Christmas when I opened the box nothing looks better than bright red brembos behind those 17 inch teledials !!! 👌

I must say Rick, those red Brembo calipers look good with the new discs and the Koni shocks and Eibach springs round off the look of the front suspension. I must admit that I would have chosen to upgrade to the 330mm discs and four-pot Brembo calipers from the Alfa 3.2 GT, the stopping power is awesome, more so than the standard Brembo's on the 3.0 GTV.

Hi Ricks, congratulation for all your project. Just a quick question. Have you restored the top mount for the front suspension? Because I have difficult to find the left side. Any suggestion?
@_RicksGarage3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the Left top mounts are no longer available at all. Impossible to find. My original top mounts seem to be ok so I just cleaned them up and repainted them.

@@_RicksGarage how did you clean it and which paint have used it?

Masterpiece, as always. A bit of an off topic here, but wonder your opinion on the fasteners zink coating. Have you had them all electroplated or hot dipped / mechanically galvanised?
@_RicksGarage3 жыл бұрын
Hi. All of the hardware has been bright zinc plated followed by a de-embrittlement process to restore their tensile strength. Thanks for the comment 👍🏼

Such a nice clean job. Hats off. I had the same dampers fit to my GTV but standard springs. Just found out the garage fitted them without bump stops or dust covers... Decided to take it apart and do it myself after watching this. Do you have a spring compressor you recommend in particular for this? I read somewhere the gtv springs can be difficult to handle...
@_RicksGarage3 жыл бұрын
Hi. I just used regular cheap spring clamps. A little tip though......I wrapped my springs with a strip of old bicycle inner tube to stop the clamps taking off any powder coat. Obviously you only need it where the clamps make contact. In terms of them being difficult.....I did have to compress them as far as my clamps would allow but generally I found them to be no different than most other cars. No problem at all 👍🏼

Quick question, Rick. Are these the Koni Sport (so NOT STR) units? You changed to supplex springs in a later video, but kept the Koni shocks? I've always been under the impression the Konis wouldn't work with oem (or oem replacement) springs.

Where did you get the front bump stops from sir?
@_RicksGarage2 жыл бұрын
Hello Sir! I bought them new on eBay for £32 at the time for genuine Febi. Now they seem to have doubled in price unfortunately. The part number is 60628906. Maybe you could find them cheaper online somewhere.
