Necrosis3 None of the Alfas is a rebadged Fiat. The people who say that never driven one. Do you know how i know? Ive had some Bravos and i have an Alfa. Theres a lot of different things in almost everything. The steering rack of an Alfa is 2.2 turns end to end, a Fiat is 3 or more, the steering of an Alfa is razorsharp. The Fiats mostly use mcpherson at the front, the Alfas use Double Wishbone and at the rear use multilink with longitudinal arms. Ok the engine in the diesel versions, the JTD is shared, which in fact is good because the JTD is an excelent and reliable diesel engine, the petrol engines on Alfa are diferent than the ones on Fiat. They are nothing similar. You will just find some plastics of Fiat in Alfas, and eventually some frame parts, which its not bad. The Bravo, a car that was very dished on the press in fact is much more progressive and predictable cornering than an Ibiza or Golf from the same year, at least on the 182 version. Dont alwas trust on the press. They're always sponsored. Its just a matter of which brand is paying. ;)

RealCapo88 That story is old. I have a 156 that i use as daily and track day car and i dont have complains about reliability. Is so reliable than any car of the same era and age. The reliability thing is a thing of the past, 70's, 80's. 90s and after that issue become adressed. Mine is from 2000's and have no problem at all, even the electronics works fine.

Having tracked my Giulia Qv, I can confirm it is very quick - the Porsche 911 Turbo was not getting away from me! The tyres are trick, but mine did 5,000 before the track day and still have plenty of tread - part of being lighter I guess ; ) This is a great review, and the Giulia Qv is a great car. No problem with the Merc, just not my kind of car.

The very first BMW X6 you mentioned was available in 2008 with a ZF gearbox, so the gearbox in the BMW x6 that was smashed (i know you made up this story by yourself) is also the same gearbox as the Alfas gearbox today, from ZF. ZF is known for the finest gearboxes and most reliable once too.

It’s not a dual clutch. It’s the torqueflight. It’s a torque converter which is stronger than a crappy dual clutch and it’s the exact same transmission found in the hellcats. 160ms shifts. It’s the fastest shifting trans.

Audis/VWs DSG can shift in 8ms. Bugatti Veyron 8ms. Way faster than this granny transmission. Funny enough, Alfa´s Double Clutch (which is found in the Giulietta) does it away with 8ms as well. You can never, ever beat a double clutch transmission. Just ask Formula 1.

I have a diesel 2.2 at8 giulia and even if you have only 180hp it feels amazing in corners and it is clearly visible that tbe car was developed on the quadrifoglio version which is something that does not happen when you drive a c class , it simply does not feel special as the alfa

Wow...the Alfa Romeo is quite nice! It is growing onto me each time I see it and watch videos on it. I feel it has won every comparison test I've seen. I just love the M-B and that V8 engine. Also love the M3 comp pack too when compared with those plus I could get a manual in the BMW. No manual options is why the Benz and AR aren't as high of interest to me personally. The front grill is growing onto me on the AR. I love the rest of the look and do like the interior as well. A 2.9L V6 does seem small as my M2 had a bigger displacement, but can't deny 500hp.

The Alfa Romeo uses a "regular" ZF 8HP Troque Converter Automatic Transmission. It's build in Saarbrücken, Germany as far as I know. Amazing performance for a torque converter auto. isn't it?

I'm pretty sure the Alfa has a ZF-8HP auto, not a dual clutch..... though in a way that mistake is a compliment - clearly it is fast and responsive enough to compete with a dual clutch! And the engine - over 500hp from less than 3.0 liters - Amazing! I do like the C63, but the lightness and precision of the Alfa must be respected! As Lotus founder Colin Chapman once said "Add power and you will go faster on the straights. Add lightness and you will go faster everywhere". Well done Alfa!

Super TEST ! Although both cars are phenomenal and these engines (you have to hurry, they leave so quickly), I am closer to Giulia - it has that vague charm of Italian temperament that you will not experience in the technical perfection of AMG! Each of them is a dream come true, it is a pity that the GTA and GTAm versions have soared into the price space!

Alfa Romeo QV is not a dual clutch (i think the journalist mis-spoke in the video) unless its production is different outside of US. It is a ZF 8-speed sequential gearbox as far as the automatic option is concerned.

If the AMG had its other standard tires, the Michelin Pilot Super Sports, instead of he Continentals, it would have beat the Alfa. If it had the same tires as the Alfa, it would have easily killed the Alfa. Those tires are Alfa's way to cheat.
