According to Stellantis’ CEO Carlos Tavares, if the Junior (previously called Milano) were to be built in Italy, it would raise the price by €10,000. That’s why they’re built in Poland. In Italy, the Junior is priced from €31,900 in hybrid guise.

I first became aware of this car, after googling the Dodge Hornet, featured in the USA TV ads. It's not my cup of tea, and seems the Toyota CHR has this covered. Great presentation Tish!

The problem for most people isn't the V, the wheels or Poland. The car is just not appealing to many of us, and being an EV isn't helping for some. I have a Stelvio and Giulia Q and they both look beautiful. They look like Alfa designed them. This just looks ordinary. Having said that, maybe new Alfa customers will like the fact that it looks more like everything else? I hope so, because Alfa need sales!!

Nice review and great looking car! However even though the steering ratio is “the fastest in its class”, I doubt that the car is “the fastest in its class”. Not to worry, I’m sure more powerful versions will appear soon!

Stellantis is doing the same thing with platform sharing that other large auto conglomerates from the US, japan and Germany have been doing for decades. This vehicle was also just released as an Opel. Ok, fine. As someone looking for a small efficient commuter car, I really like the styling of the Junior. Stellantis is going in this direction to meet fuel efficiency numbers and they also know that SUVs outsell sedans for any carmaker. I hope for two things: that Stellantis realizes that a vehicle in this segment needs to be as reliable and durable as a Honda, not a Fiat, if it is to compete globally. And that it continues to allow brands like Alfa to also retain the character of their core models, i.e. their sport sedans, coupes and exotics. Variety is the spice of life.

Great review Tish. I drive a Peugeot e208 and it’s pretty much got all the same good/bad points as the Junior - really cramped in the back but with a nice driver focused front and great styling (IMHO). The Junior is going on my shortlist for next company car, as the list price whilst high like all the Stellantis EV’s, isn’t that important to me. Will see if it has affordable leasing rates later this year, but I really like the styling.😊

Never been fortunate to own a Alfa Romeo but they've always impressed me in the design department best looking Alfa I've seen to date. I think hybrids are in the trend at the moment but I'm not convinced by 100% EV just yet and for me it doesn't matter where it's built it's still a great looking Alfa.

You want controversial? I think the new Porsche Macan wins that one. But right off the bat: the new design. Very unique in its own way, but still has that familiar Alfa Romeo prescence. I love the LEDs front and back. LOVE that beautiful red with the 2 tone finish. Hate that exposed wiper at the back so that's a zonk. Extend the roof spoiler and tuck it underneath so it looks cleaner. And the interior is definitely space-aged! Impressive looking car as you would expect from Alfa Romeo, but currently the talk of the town is that new Porsche Macan EV, which I respectfully think is better than this car. Great review Tish. Thumbs up.

I'm not a big fan of crossovers but I like this one inside and out , for me the rear door handles are a hit and I don't care if it doesn't have 12 cup holders everywhere but sadly probably won't see this car in the States .

No cup holders or door pockets is a bit silly. I also notice more and more ore manufacturers are not putting map pockets in the back of standard seats i guess to give the impression of more room

I do not like the grill. I think the grill looks better on the Hyprid model. However I have no problem with where the rear handles are. Alfa are the ones who first done this after all. I think if they were ordinary handles the car would look worse unless they were flush handles.

The 1997 Walter De Silva designed Alfa 156 (Gorgeous car!) started the hidden rear door handle design to make the car look more “coupe” like… & also the “Off set” number plate with I believed should have been retained and is an Alfa signature. I’m with you on the hybrid grille as well with the old Alfa script…

Sorry not convinced by this Alfa. From the side it reminds me of a Corsa. The front reminds me of the new Citroen C3 with lots of make up and bling applied. The rear is reminiscent of the Kia EV6. The cable storage at the front seems pointless given it's small volume and the fact the cables are quite heavy and difficult to revert to the original form so it's likely to just be slung in the boot. It will be interesting to see how it drives. So far, I'm more convinced with the Renault 5. A very good review though.

The Tonale was the last car fully designed and signed off by AR before the takeover and it shows and possibly the last new AR car to be built in Italy if Stellantis get their way. AR is now diluted among the various other brands in the Stellantis group and has lost all character..you might as well be looking at a Peugeot e2008.

In the last years before Stellantis, Alfa hadn't a really dedicated leadership, no dedicated design team. Since Stellantis it has that again. The decision to build the Junior in Poland was made by FCA in 2020 at the lastest. The next Alfas will be built in Cassino, Italy: Stelvio 2025, Giulia 2026. Oh, and the 33 Stradale in late 2024.

Jeep avenger was the only good product comming from that factory, design wise i mean. This so called Junior is not an Alfa, it looks a renault in the front and a Peugeot in the back. I am sorry, but this car is the most ugly car, released under the Alf Romeo brand name since the „Alfa Arna“ (built as a Alfa/Nissan cooperation in the 80ies) the grill is ugly and appears cheap, the Alfa logo made in black and white is awful and the overall design appears like a copy of Opel/Vauxhall Mokka.

Oh, dear me! This peculiar creation seems to have taken a detour through the land of chunky American aesthetics, much to the chagrin of Italian elegance. Attempting to pass off this design as appealing might prove quite the challenge. Alas, one might find more allure in the sleek lines of a Renault compared to this hefty Alfa Romeo.
