Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti Sport Gets New Michelin Tires | Insane Transformation

You're going to love these Michelins. I put them on my 2020 Giulia Ti Sport Q4 and it was an incredible improvement over the Pirelli RunFlats. I put them on at the beginning of November. Dry and wet hugely improved with these. Right after putting these on I did a round trip from NH to PA and back. I take the parkways, and love the twistys on the lower end of the Merritt. The Michelins were much more planted in the high speed sweepers. On my return it was raining and they remained confidence inspiring. I had a panic stop, there was this incredible rainbow people were stopping on the parkway to view, and the Michelins gripped like I was in the dry. I did another round trip Thanksgiving weekend and caught some light snow in Connecticut on the way back, they did well in this light snow.

yeah so far they are a remarkable upgrade to say the least this is why OEM tires on may cars are not great for everyones conditions .

Just got these for my 2018 Q50 RS and wow what a difference! Had the same alignment/pulling problem you had with you’re Q50 for three years on the stock tires. Thought there was a problem with the car for the longest time, put the as4 tires on and completely fixed everything! No alignment was done

I put these on my Giulia TI Sport Q4, way better than the Pirelli Run flat tires in almost every way. The only problem I have with them is tread life, I have 12k miles on them and they have about 30% life on them, I drive my car VERY hard, triple digit speeds every day.

thanks for sharing your feedback we will see how these hold up, they do have a 45k mile warranty so maybe see if you can get yours replaced. i think AWD does kill tires much faster plus the higher speeds

I mean, obviously if you drive your Alfa as if you are sending an hot lap every time you seat in inside of it then off course the tread life is reduced to 50% of what it is supposed to be driving it at legal speeds 😅

Love the contact tape there! I have the Michelin Crossclimate 2 255/45r20 put on my Stelvio just recently. I always look for extra care not to damage the rims. Car looks awesome!

I also have the AS4 for my Q4 Giulia and I can say that the handling is different compared to the Pirelli Run Flats that I had before. The grip is so much better and there's much less chance of losing traction compared to the Pirellis where I was able to get the tires to squeal going into a turn from a stop. I've even tracked the AS4s at NJMP Lightning twice and was able to manage to stay within the intermediate class! (Though my abilities need improving to stay within Intermediate) I've yet to experience the tyres with snowfall since I've only had my set since mid-August, but I definitely have a lot more confidence in handling and fun on the street compared to before!

Just replaced Michelin Cross Climate SUV worn out prematurely at 15K miles and causing a hum sound with these Michelins Pilot Sport AS4 and they are amazing. My 2019 Acura RDX Aspec handles and ride so quiet. It’s a good choice.

Thanks for the great video, AutoFanatic. I have the Ti Sport w/ the 20" rim and 3+ years use on the OEM 255/45 Continental tires. I'd also like to swap it out with your recommended Michelins but there are lot of different Michelin AS 40 tires and I can't find the same ones you have w/ the 40K warranty. Please let me know if you can provide the exact model # for the Michelin tires. Btw, it so happened that I was able to get a quote (12/2021) from COSTCO for a set of the Michelin Primacy Tour A/S 255/45R20 105V XL BSW - 55K miles warranty for $960 (installation included). Is this the same tires that you have? Big thank you again!

Very pleased you love the Stelvio on its new rubber. Sadly you're not right on manufacturers just bidding out throwing tyres and throwing them on. Alfas are sold with 'AR' tags - (just like my new Giulia has on its Bridgestone Potenzas,) and many Alfas have with Pirelli P-Zeros (and Corsas) - but I suspect MOST true of tyres which you didn't have there. Pirelli can spend years perfecting their state of 'tune' for a car, adjusting multiple parameters like quietness, wet-road grip you name it. I suspect your Continentals were just clapped out. Also on a new tyre you now have 4-5 more mm thickness, which will make it feel far better / quieter.

I have the same tires on my mustang (live up north). I found that these tires give insane amounts of traction for an all season tire on a car that has over 400whp.

Ugh.. Since we have winter tires on another rim these OEMs are taking forever to wear out! I've had the Michelin's on my past BMW and now Giulia QV. Excellent tire, esp for the price! Ever think of going a bit wider in the back?

100% agree with the Continental complaints, same tires on our 2019 Stelvio, hate them, and wife hates them, so that says it all…. Hope to find some Michelins soon. Thx for the review.

Not yet! When we move from NY this coming year I will decide if we keep this or replace the Stelvio with a 4C Spyder, New Bronco to custom build or something else we shall see what the new year brings.

FYI my 2021 Stelvio 20” Continentals I feel every crack & bump in the road. Terrible hard ride. I’m definitely switching to something else. Drove a 2023 Stelvio with 19” Perelli’s super smooth like a BMW ride.

yeah the earlier Stelvios especially the Ti Sports ride very rough and the new ones are entirely different. they no longer offer a Ti Sport version and the Veloce and Estrema ride so much better

@@autofanaticcars yes softer ride quality and honesty felt faster & brakes where definitely adjusted. No more spongy feeling. They definitely made improvements. Steering felt dampened & harder to turn also. It also felt like it sits higher in the front because of the fatter tires.

I've got Stelvio Veloce, and it came with Michelin Latitude Sport 3. I've never thought that Michelin can be this noisy and hard. And for winter I use Continental WinterContact TS860S, they are ok and definitely softer and quieter than Michelin Latitude Sport 3.

These are the tires that come on the base C8. They are great. I'm still nervous with them when they are cold. Once warm they grab strongly.

could not believe the new S Class has the Hankooks and they SUCKEd we took those off after the owner blew a hole through the sidewall on day 3 of owning it, we installed the Michelin Pilot AS Plus and it was a huge improvement.

I run 35psi front and 37 rear cold if you run less psi in the rear below 36 the TPMS sensor throws a dash fault according to OEM spec the rear tires are 36psi cold.

you need to have a show dismount and mount the new tire, the sensor does not need to be removed, the vehicle will program itself after some highway driving

Stelvio been great we need to get it in to a dealer but am afraid they will mess the car up, has Forward Collision fault when the wind shield was changed and an induction noise at part throttle around town but it does not affect driving it

I own a stelvio pretty much exactly same as this one. I've probably had about 30 cars in my life. Some higher end and some heaps of shit. I can honestly say I've never noticed a difference when changing tyres. Ever. Not once On every car, I'm convinced no one does for day to day use

something is wrong with you then because tires make the most drastic improvement on just about any car you drive and on the Stelvio it took the steering and handling up to a much higher sports car level.
