ALFFAA 1500W Power Inverter Reviewed

Folks, in this video we take a look at the 1500W ALFFAA Poer Inverter. I did a video review on one of these a few days ago and it arrived DOA, the vendor contacted me and sent me a replacement at no charge. This video shows it undergoing a series of tests.

Dang Ape, that was one THOROUGH test you completed on that inverter. I learned some good stuff from you. That battery puts out some solid voltage. I need a battery like that for my RV to run the coffee maker and microwave.

I have had some interference issues from other similar mains inverters because they switch at high frequencies. Is it possible to look at components of the switching frequency by using a LF toroid maybe type 73 mix, coupled to the individual input and output lines. One could view the product on a tiny SA or possibly an oscilloscope. If the units are used in a Amateur radio environment one wouldnt want to cause unwanted interference.

Hey Kevin, I am sure you could rig up a contraption to see if there was RF on any of the cables but maybe an EMI probe would be need to to check the internals. Given the price point I'm not sure this is an RF quiet inverter.

I bought one earlier in the year, and it smoked on the initial start. They sent a new one no questions asked (good on them), and it's been working good ever since. Tried to fix the smoked one the other day by replacing all the blown 40A fuses (soldered in fuse holders with pigtails to facilitate fuse replacement next time), but something is shorted and I don't know enough about electronics to pursue it further. Any ideas, anyone? This machine, on two 100Ah batteries and solar, has run a remote-located full-size top-loader washing machine for a shop a couple times a week for six months, or so with no issues. Good unit.

Can a 1500w power inverter power on a 1500w electric oven using a 1000cc car battery ?

I wouldn't run the 1500w inverter a full bore for very long. Also, you would need to see if the battery can support about 125A continuous discharge which it most likely can't if it's not a deep cycle battery.

Pre-charging the caps is not user friendly. The average noob who puts this into an RV or something is not going to want to do that every time they turn on the AC.
