ALFFAA 1500w Pure Sine Wave Inverter Review!

I received the ALFFAA Pure Sine Wave Inverter and I wanted to put it through some common test along with some uncommon tests! I also tested the USB ports and didn't like what I found...but does anyone even use them?

We have this inverter as well. The USB port will do over 3A easy you have to have a load that needs it or a load device

Great video! Couple pieces of advice for future videos if you test other inverters. 1) What's the wattage loss for smaller items like a laptop? Are we still looking at 10-15% loss? 2) Test battery low voltage safety and the low voltage cutoff for the inverter. Some inverters handle lower voltages better than others. 3) Get a cheap oscilloscope. :) If you can swing it, get a nicer one -- but oscilloscopes can come in handy if you ever get into electronic circuit designs, etc. 4) Test reverse polarity safety. That's all I have -- great video and thank you for taking the time to test this. I'm thinking about getting one myself.

laptop is not a sensitive equipment , the smps do not care about input waveform as long as the rms voltage is within its range it will convert it to the voltage required by the laptop , most computer ups's are modified sinewave and 10yrs ago most of them were square wave , the ups thats on my dads computer is a squarewave type and it happily runs his computer and tv on battery but does not run a 220v 30w induction motor fan . that fan only runs on the ups that is in my computer and it is a modified sinewave type , if it was pure sine the fan would run even better , so if u want to test sensitive loads run an induction motor ! (power tools have universal motor in most of them and those run on ac or dc so they also don't care about input waveform but they are a good test for surge current. try running 18000btu air conditioner for the real surge test! )

Great hope you get more product offers to review..Some Grid Ties do have Limiters but not always obvious to the consumer..Not obvious either if these invertors need a solar controller..Good Reviews could make or break a product.!!!! hope for more.

Thanks for the comment! I would like to do more reviews. When my current grid tie inverter fails I will be getting one with a limiter. The one I have now should pay for itself in 3 months, if it lasts that long!

@@OffGridBasement I am not in a rush , really idea was to save my crypto rig electric bill... But Crypto Ethereum, Helium , Chia. Bitcoin all just Tanken down..Maybe just turn off the rig off at night. Mine only during the day....24kwh over 24 hours..alot for only 6 GPU..If china shipping goes down I might get a 48v Battery server rack.

How powerful was the battery used for your tests? I use one of these Allfaa 1500Ws to run a full-sized washer a couple of times a week and it needs two, one hundred Amp-hour AGMs (recharged between use with solar) to operate correctly.

I used a 100ah 12v lifepo4 battery. I believe it was plenty powerful enough for the inverter. Thanks for the comment.

Great video. Can you please check the DC current draw when inverter is on but no loads connected so we can figure out what the standby power is? Thanks!

With no load the inverter has a draw of .95amps. Between 11-12v. I hope this helps!

Can I run a portable room air conditioner with it? It's a 12,000 BTU Danby DPA120B3WDB

Unfortunately not. I believe a unit that size will be pulling around 3500w. I don't believe that includes the start up surge of the unit. You would need something around a 5k inverter for that size AC unit. I hope this helps. Thanks for the comment.
