Thanks for the good info, adding them at night is very important

Putting them in the fridge really doesn’t harm them at all. At my fish shop and many others, our Copepods go in the fridge every night, and the are all fine once they’ve warmed back up, it just slows them and their metabolisms down so they last longer

My first thought was that it was packaged in tortillas, 1 candy plus complementary tortillas. LOL. Eat insulation tortillas whilst adding copepods to your tank. Awesome!

We have 3 salty fish tanks and one salty corals tank. We swear by using copepods. He is absolutely correct in adding multiple breeds of the pods. If you like to have filter feeders like Duncan corals or feather duster worms, in my opinion copepods are a 100% necessity. I’m about to start breading my own pods. Algae Barn is, in my opinion, the best resource for starting anything like pods. Their staff is wise in any questions you may have. PS….the unbleached cotton batting they use for shipping is brilliant! Recyclable, a great source for insulation, and natural. It shows how the company is committed to the importance in preserving and restoring the health of our planet.

What size tank do you have that flame angel in? I’ve read they need at least 75 gallons

I am currently cycling my tank. After that's done should I seed my tank with phytoplankton before I get pods?
@dboy4ever4 жыл бұрын
You can put both in your cycles tank at the same time

So if I add these to my tank and don’t have a refugium can they still survive in my system? If not then how often should I add these packages to my tank?
@intergalacticbigboi70884 жыл бұрын
Yes they will survive without a refugium just need phytoplankton and and a light of course

@eatsleepreef95656 жыл бұрын

Why do I need phytoplankton if they can just eat detritus and algae as you stated?
@jennanation69922 жыл бұрын
good point! I was wondering the same thing! I also re it ups the nutrients. I think may just use it for coral food since I bought a bottle!

Things I take away from this video: Pods are microfauna that will help keep water clean by eating detritus of any kind. They are an important part of the CUC but also serve another purpose, they are food for corals, feather dusters, and fish specialized in eating micro foods. Basically this is something you want to do at some point for your marine tank to establish an ecosystem that will aid you in keeping it stable. There are also a deal at Algeabarns that offer 4 copepods! That’s pretty neat.

Great info but way too much repetition.

Alright Im just gonna be straight forward. 1. You unbox the package make it interesting or better still your introduction. 2. When you talk do show some footages that is linked to your conversation, it can be quite dull. 3. Do demostrate on how you can do it and ways to make it better with steps. 4. Always give a shout out first to the brand you mention. Hope you can take it positively and in fact improve from it. Happy reefing

You made this video wayyyy longer than it needed to be.
@DLJFunk6 жыл бұрын
you didn't show us how to put them in your tank ????
@EvanLikesCake5 жыл бұрын
Darryl J fairly simple. If adding directly to display turn off all flow and add them in and leave flow off for about 10-15mins.
@apdroidgeek17374 жыл бұрын
You basically just dump them and forget about it lol

Agree with the other comments. Could be such a great video, but you repeat yourself so much. Thanks for sharing the info.
