I am in college taking Intermediate Algebra and you are are awesome teacher. My elementary and (current) intermediate math professors SUCK. You are the only reason I have learned the stuff my professor attempts to teach in class. Thank you! Please never stop what you do-you have a positive impact in the world and your personality & the way you are able to teach, is a gift that I am grateful you share. Thanks again. From 30yr old college student in NM.

Hey! I wanted to say Thank you so much! I'm in college algebra currently this Fall Semester and my teacher is really hard to learn from. She skips steps and doesn't explain what she's doing half the time. Most nights, I leave the classroom totally lost. But, since I've been watching your videos, I've gotten 96% on my first two tests. Thank you very much, I'd be literally failing without you and that can't happen when you're applying to the Nursing program. Thanks for doing this for us, you're honestly helping tons of people! :)

I'm confused. I thought only a number in the y set cannot repeat since it represents the output. You can have multiple inputs (x), but you can only have one output.

I am pretty dang old and stink at math. Taking math as my last class before graduation for a reason. I sit up late nights watching you and trying to learn what terrible teachers in high school could never teach well. These students were luck to learn from you.

I understood the check with vertical line, but can anyone please explain WHY it’s NOT a function when it hits twice on vertical line? And if it’s not a function, what is it then?
@GamingGenius777 Жыл бұрын
I'm two years late so there's a chance you already know this... But anyway, for a relation to be a function, it must only have one output (y) for every input (x). For example, if we have (1, 2) and (3, 4), we know that if we input 1 we will always get an output of 2. But if we have (1, 2) and (1, 3), it's not a function because if we input one we can get 2 or 3. If it's not a function it's still a relation. All functions are relations, but not all relations are functions.
