Algonquin 2022: DAY TWO -BUSHWACKER Portage to S. Galipo

The spring trip could not have come any sooner, and Covid did not delay the opening this year!
Evan, Ryan, Rich and our buddy Dan head out on a 4 day loop starting at the Rock Lake access point.
The trip would take us South to Clydegale Lake for night one, West through the "Bushwackers Portage" to
the Galipo Lakes, then North toward Louisa for night three.
The weather was warm, with a chance of rain throughout the weekend. Unbeknown to us at the time there would be
a tornado watch through most of Southern Ontario, and we would face quite a bit of adversity on Day Two.

most adventurous canoeists! that's what the map says.. yup. Jeffrey and I were headed south to South Moccasin lake/ Madawaska and then north through the Germans and Upper Redstone lake eventually! hit a wall coming off of Little Canoe and Jeffrey pulled the GPS out. found the roads and we headed west to East Galipo..took us all day to get onto that site on South Galipo. named the pond (saw a fisher there too which was awesome!) Jeffrey put together this "route" so we have never gone this way - except for the spot on the corner to the pond. West Galipo is such a pretty lake. Great fishing up there. keep that quiet though. Well done guys!

We went to the galipos this year as well we got there in one day.. we went thru welcome .. u can tell hardly anyone goes to those lakes ..

@@SingleMaltAndMaps they were just starting but not biting really ... the south galipos water was 70 and Louisa was 50 .. the bugs come early on the galipos the ice also melts faster so the water warms up after. For fishing u wanna go there right after ice out .. Louisa had zero bugs but galipos had lost not biting tho

Had a gps… but the micro SD with the map was corrupted… couldn’t pull up anything to assist the navigation… a gps would have def made this an easier day!
