I bought Bitcoins in 2010 when they were worth peanuts- my mates all laughed at me. Cashed out in 2013/14 when it was around £400 per coin and made a cool 5 figure profit which was enough for a house deposit. Great advice in this video Ali, I can totally relate to the “don’t get emotional” advice. About 10 years ago I was up 600k trading contracts for difference, before the market corrected and I ended up not only losing all those gains but it kept going and burned through my original 150k and then continued on forcing margin calls until I bailed out another 100k down. I told myself to only put in $500 to learn the stock market, and ONLY use money I made from investing, to invest more. Now I have doubled my money rather quickly. I know a lot of people throw tons of money at it to make more money faster, but like you, you can lose a TON fast as well. I think its best to learn how everything works and start slow!!!! My philosophy is, make some money on smaller stocks to buy more stocks in one or two companies that will be stable and constantly rise in the long term.
