On the coldest night of 2024-- Sunday Dec. 22nd--with the thermometer measuring one degree about zero Fahrenheit outside--GARY LUCAS & GODS AND MONSTERS burned down The Colony Woodstock NY with a ferocious set featuring the band's new lineup of Calvin Weston (Ornetter Coleman, The Lounge Lizards) on drums and longtime G&M bassist Ernie Brooks (Modern Lovers, Arthur Russell). Now a psychedelic power trio / jam band, Lucas and co. blazed through an hour and a half of musical madness that had the crowd hollering for more. This was a warmup for their upcoming official debut on Mon. Jan. 6th 2025 at the City Winery NYC: "INSURRECTION RESURRECTION: THE RETURN OF GARY LUCAS & GODS AND MONSTERS".
