Road rats is a cover (of himself) btw , it was originally on the Lace and Whiskey album . Probably done because it suited the concept of the album

Thanks. I am sure that I have heard that before. I don't listen to Lace and Whiskey that often but yeah, it was within the context of the album.

Like a remake of his song in fact, 'cause the lyrics (and title) aren't the same, but it feels like bringing an old song to modern days, I really like how they did it. A good mix of old and new.

I bought lace and whiskey when it came out and road rats after it’s hot tonight and you and me was my favorite song on that album. He redid it for the movie roadie too I love this new cover of it ,I miss when Alice used to sing in that way without a forced snarl through a whole song . lol

That "forced growl" is what's been bothering me in his newer stuff. I can't tell if he's trying to hard or not enough. Admittedly I've barely listened to his newer stuff and I think that is why, I am behind. The last album I own is Brutal Planet (every one but Zipper Catches Skin up to that point) which is top caliber. There are still quite a few "newer" songs on my playlist.

Chuck Garric, Alice's bassist, is known for leading a singalong during "I Love the Dead", which takes place after Alice is decapitated with the guillotine!

Yeah, that's a great song.

You left out how incredible he sounds for his age, you almost can’t tell the difference from decades ago
@jcrockandmetalreviews Жыл бұрын
Yes that is true. He sounds just like he did 50 years ago.

Hi John!! cool review, had no idea new Alice cooper was already out..... it's really cool to see him releasing good stuff at his age. I have not heard anything from this one yet, but it sounds like a good one, maybe to many songs?? Btw --> "Feed my Frankestein". cheers and be well
@jcrockandmetalreviews Жыл бұрын
Thanks. It's similar to the last one. He has been very consistent lately.

Frankenstein is the lyric from Wayne’s World the movie. The song starts off Feed my Frankenstein when Wayne and Garth are at the concert.

Yes that song is called Feed my Frankenstein. He actually has one more with Frankenstein in the title let's see if anyone else gets it.

I’m a huge Alice Cooper fan but I really didn’t like Detroit Stories. I thought it was his weakest album since the 80’s. Road however is classic Alice, I’ve been playing it all weak.

I liked Detroit Stories, but I feel that this album was an improvement.

Alice doesn't know how to make a bad album. There's not many artist like him left. Most groups these days r over produced and fake. Cooper is about as real as it gets so glad he's still doing it. He's still at the top of his game.

Alice hasn't released a great album since Dirty Diamonds. Road contains a couple of good songs but the majority of the album is pretty lame unfortunately.

I absolutely DIG THIS ALBUM.....wow been listening to it non stop. Been a fan since 72 when I was 12! VERY strong rocker and fun, which is very cool, just fun with no real mind benders...lol I would call it a party album 4 sure. Love BIG BOOTS, not a filler on my list. ROAD RATS was on Lace and Whiskey by the way. Don't care for all the comparisons. It ROCKS, ITS GOOD, IT"S FUN, and to me not a bad tune on it however the ballad is my least favorite, but growing on me.
@jcrockandmetalreviews Жыл бұрын
Yes I agree. I think this album is getting a little better after every listen. I guess the song big boots is not too bad. I think it's kind of cheesy. That's why I said it was a little weaker and also I have been getting a lot of comments about that road rat song and I know I've probably heard it before but at Lace and Whiskey is not one of those albums that I go back to often and so I guess that's why I didn't say it but anyway thanks for a commenting.
