when i listen to youthanasia, it sounds like Dave has matured and this has affect his music, stopped doing thrash and did what he was feeling in 94, but with still being Megadeth, even sounding kinda sad and angry and thoughtfull the whole album. so in my opnion, theres no way this album would be a sell out, now Cryptic Writtings... like that album but it sounds too "happy"

TBH, it's boring as fuck. He used to be great. This is super commercial, lacks any energy, the production sucks, and he's become more obsessed with God than Christians. Compare it to Golden Age of Grotesque. Not even close.

"Party Hard", which is Andrew's biggest hit, is the goal song for the NHL hockey team Pittsburgh Penguins. It's been the team's goal song since 2015 and it got the Penguins' fans going wild throughout the 2015-2016 season whenever Sidney Crosby or other members scored a goal on home ice [which led them to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2016] and helped the team win the Stanley Cup in both 2016 and 2017.

Excellent thorough review on the new Marilyn Manson album. It took me a while but I dug Marilyn Manson's music during my teenage years. I lost track of what he's done after Heaven Upside Down was released. Of course, I heard about all the controversies surrounding him. But, I'm glad he was cleared and started releasing new music again.

Having seen Cooper, my first rock show, at 10 yro in '81, & having been into thrash & hardcore since metal went pink & purple in '84 after "Jump" bs dropped😅 i wasnt impressed when Manson first popped. Saw a poster first then heard Sweet Dreams cover & just shook my head. He might as well have done "Beat It" in my mind. Thats Annie Lennox PERIOD to me. But then i happened to catch his performance of Beautiful People on Mtv awards & was blown away that he actually rocked me. Went out & bought Anti Christ Superstar & is a Masterpiece from start to finish. But then whatever tf he came out with after, androgynous Star Fukr(?)😅 I didn't care for, or anything after ive heard. ...I also had a friend who's dad cleaned tour buses. During Smells Like Children tour he snaked a copy of one of Mason's home videos. Was sickest sht i think ive ever seen? At least in one sitting.😅 G.G. Allin baby sht by comparison! Can maybe tell some if anybody interested,..& can?😅 After that i especially dont care for the guy, but was hoping hed try & make a comeback in the name of freedom of expression. Hope he fuks sht up again. See ya. Rock On! 🤘🌎❤️

The chainsaw on "Psychopath" reminds me of that episode from season 5 of The Simpsons in the scene where Homer busts into Bart's room shouting *"BART, DO YOU WANNA SEE MY NEW CHAINSAW AND HOCKEY MASK?!"* Also, the screams on "Psychopath" were done by Ice-T's wife Coco and daughter Chanel. Ice-T stated in an interview about the song that he wanted Coco and Chanel to scream like they were being attacked by Leatherface!

First two albums are the best. Also, while their songs are heavy, they're not "metal". The fusion genre they created is "nu-metal", a style of music fusing metal, hip hop, punk, grunge and various other genres.

I can understand why the album is divisive. It’s designed to reconnect the band with its fans and deliberately calls back to each of their previous albums. So a lot of the songs sound like they could fit into one of the other albums. Because LP previous albums sound is so varied; FZ sound is also equally varied. Unless you liked all of their previous work it’s understandable if some songs speak to you more than others. The two songs which stand out and sound new and different are Overflow and Good Things Good. I wouldnt call Overflow pop. It’s more an electronic alternative (don’t know what else to call it) that has Massive Attack and NIN influences. I think GTG is one of the highlights with strong lyrics and good harmonies between Emily and Mike.
@jcrockandmetalreviews
@jcrockandmetalreviews Күн бұрын
Yeah, that's true. I have heard peoprle compare Overflow to Massive Attack, although I've never listened to them. I actually liked it more than the other music channels that I usually collaborate with and I think it has the potential to grow on me.

Beacuse when I was listening I didn't know (Or remember) that he was in. This album sounded really good in surround. Mikael Åkerfeldt talk so nicely often some artist and records that he like, so it would be great if they would release cover album. And not just Jethro Tull or Pink Floyd but something not so known. I don't think that's the real reason why Blackmore left. He had pretty strong control on the musical direction and could easily change it if it were the main reason. One of the stories had to do with the ability to play covers, specifically Black sheep of the family, which he then did with RJD. He was more excited to play with different people than continue with the Mark 3 line up.

it's interesting... hearing how chester was saying he wanted their latest album to have the BEST songs for the audience (and also them) in his words "that will reach people who didn't know who were searching for us" - but... anytime we focus on the audience when creating content... we lose authenticity and i think that's why the album one more light was one of their biggest flops... it's much harder to stay true to your craft when money and fame gets involved... either way... he's still one of the best male vocalists that's ever served us in our times... appreciate the video JC 👍 i share the same view that meteora and hybrid theory are pretty much joint 1st for me... maybe Meteora swings it a little... easier to run being one of my fav tracks by them... but all time fav is 'waiting for the end'

And we also love Countdown + Youthanasia + Cryptic trilogy. Even against popular opinion.
