Turd Ferg I think it just felt good to do it. Layne was a fan of STP so it was nice to see Scott pay respects and sing this song, I don't care what anyone else says on this forum. These bands all got along and supported each other. Why can't the fans do that as well? (not speaking of you but prior posters) I don't know if you agree, but as I read through these comments and see fans of one band or vocalist tearing the other down it makes me sad. None of these guys ever showed an ounce of disrespect for the other. They encouraged each other and it's partially what made this era of music so amazing.

He was smiling because he was having fun jammin with a friend. If you look close, Jerry was telling Duvall to help out because it didn't sound that great...
@yjjeeper1
@yjjeeper1 5 жыл бұрын
@@ericvocals9034 that was Duvall screwing up not "helping out", he was butt hurt because Weiland was making him look stupid so he wasn't singing the back vocals like he was supposed to. If you actually know the song, you knew I'm right. That was the best it's sounded since Layne and you know it.
@stereostigma5794

@@yjjeeper1 Duvall is singing great here. Hes doing all the highs and the 'yeahs'. Scott isn't even singing the lyrics right, and hes doing jerrys harmony, not laynes. Scott was great, but he was a heroin shell by this point.

I think Jerry was just trying to find parts for both DuVall and Weiland to sing.. not trying to stop anyone. Anyway the original song is like 10 layers of Layne's vocals so it doesn't feel out of place when all of them sing at once.

only Weiland can pull off Staley's heaven sent voice. Two tragedys indeed.
@TristinAutumn
@TristinAutumn 7 жыл бұрын
Joe Riznyk Scott was incredibly talented, but I don't think he could pull of Layne's voice and Layne could never pull off Scott's voice. Layne was a medium tenor and Scott was a Baritone. However, they are both amazing singers and I am glad Scott got to sing Angry Chair...he did amazing. It would be fun to have seen Layne sing an STP song. Layne sometimes wore an STP shirt so I know he greatly admired their work. Both of them unique souls and great frontmen....greatly missed

scott weiland was able to sing just about anything great, and this was further proof of that. his range was outstanding and he was able to make anything sound incredible. between this performance, his work with the doors, his christmas song, and the versatility displayed throughout all the albums he released with stone temple pilots, his talent and expertise as a vocalist is truly undeniable. i believe he was immensely under appreciated and was never given the recognition he so greatly deserved.

All of the vocalists from the Seattle scene/Grunge era had such unbelievable voices. No one can replace Layne on any Alice song, but I think Scott could take most anything from their catalog and make it work to perfection. Eddie and Chris would sound pretty sick too. I'd love to hear Chris singing along to anything off of 'facelift', or to 'got me wrong'. Eddie would sound awesome on some of the acoustic Jar of Flies tracks. "Don't follow" comes to mind right away.

Layne Staley has the most amazing voice in metal/grunge to date. His voice will never be replaced. Layne will never be replaced, but Scott Weiland definitely overrules their current lead singer.

Ugh this is my favorite performance ever. To blend my two favorite bands. I saw this video when it was first posted and I'm watching it again today still makes me melt. I would have died to have been at this show! 🖤🖤🖤 Scott is amazing. RIP Layne and Scott 😢
