I have to tell you I have been to a lot of shows in my 42 years- This ONE was EPIC... Frickin Palladium was on FIRE- He sounded so GOOD! The VIBE was like no other- Hollywood was feeling something unbelievable that night and I was out of my mind. I had just Graduated from High school and asked my BOyfriend to Buy TIX for my Christmas Present - Best Gift EVERRRRR! I miss Layne so much- GOne to soon - :(

Notice mike Starr wearing the first ever blind melon shirt. They had just toured with ozzy from Seattle to LA. Blind melon, aic and ozzy. That would have been awesome. I saw blind melon like 7 times right before this show though before they were well known. And saw Black Sabbath with ozzy a few years after this

@@PierceJeff ♥️ eeek! It is so cool that WE were there the same age. I grew up in the Torrance area so going to shows was constant. All my money from my part time job in high school went too going to shows AND I saw everything 🎶 Nirvana at the Forum was amazing too! Monsters of Rock @The Coliseum was Incredible 1988. I love watching this video at the Palladium because you can see Paulie Shore sitting on the side next to the amps near Mike Star 🌟 Such an epic show. Never got to see Blind Melon tho.... They were so special as well LOved Shannon.

@@carlosaguirre1518 ♥️ awwwh Thank You ☺️ I am 48 now AND nothing Besides Monsters of Rock @the Colosseum The summer of 1988 compares. This show was Insane. Fill in Falmouth PANTERA was there, The place was packed. Layne sounded Incredible, he came out swinging and sounded amazing.🎙 I've heard so many stories about Mike and I am getting into all kinds of trouble taking off not showing up to practice. Chris Cornell's ex-wife Susan cell phone managed just Alice in chains... Mike and rain showed up a few hours before the show and she told Mike Star would be kicked out of the band after this show. She hired security guards to follow Layne everywhere to keep him away from any drug dealers and Mike. Then Enters Mike Inez 😊 You have a very special birthday 🥳 Dec.15th my Oldest son turns 23 on Dec.9 👍 Thank you for your comment hope you have a great day.

If you were lucky enough to see them on the Dirt tour you never forgot it. I remember being so pumped that I kept jumping as high as I could for no reason so what so ever :) It was so heavy and EVIL sounding! It was never quite the same after they fired Mike. You didn't realize how much his bass sound added until it was gone. I was also completely sober which was unusual for me at a show. After that experience I started going to shows sober all the time.

He is way more jacked up and his voice is rash and he isn’t holding down notes in anyway like the 90’ Moore performance. Thank you and God bless you a million times for posting this great and precious of a rare video. I lived 45min from this venue when this concert took place at the Hollywood Palladium and never made it and didn't know they played there on this date. How I missed this concert is beyond me and am thoroughly annoyed that I did not go. My friends and I tried seeing them a little over a year earlier when they were opening for Van Halen at the Pacific Amphitheater in Costa Mesa California. Our ride was late and the traffic to get there from the San Fernando Valley area was beyond torturous. By the time we got down there we were almost completely depleted of energy and mental clarity. Then we walk in there not only to have completely missed AIC, we missed the first three or four songs into the VH set. This is from the heart and truly mean it and that is this. Thank God we had people to film these concerts and thank God people post these videos on You Tube. Layne and Mike are gone and on top of that, it seems like a lot of these bands take eternities to realize there is this universe of people who want to see the pro shot live video from these tours from so long ago. So many concert videos are in vaults.

This is insane to watch by the minute. Must have been a upper and downer that allowed Layne to sing like this.. Maybe the band was affected too. But i just wish we could have seen Layne at 28 sober for 6 months and hear how he sounds.... Maybe, the power through a set wouldn't be there in that scenario.. But I believe the voice/vocal control/passion.. And most importantly honesty would be there. What a legend

He always plays the guitar on "Hate to Feel". In studio and live. This must be your first AIC live with Layne video 🙂.

This is awesome ! Full of energy! Dirt was just released Sept 29th that year so this show is like 2 1/2 months after so it’s still fresh for the band and it shows! Layne at the top of his game !
