Love Hate Love live at the Moore is UNTOUCHABLE PERFECTION performed live by a rock band. All other rock bands should strive to have a live performance this perfect. Actually this is not 1992. It's from December 1990. The Moore is a small theater in Seattle with GREAT acoustics. As a song, you have to listen to it from the mindset of a sociopath. Layne Staley's vocal range can run rings around any other grunge singer (including Chris Cornell) in my opinion. Layne could sing the phone book and never hit a wrong note. Even at the end of his life, with no teeth and a lisp, his voice, wit and humor were all still there. Layne's voice and vocal range was so powerful he did NOT need auto tune or pro-tools until he lost his teeth and had a lisp around 1998, and even then he still killed the vocals. Barrett Martin (who played with Layne in Mad Season) said that when he stood to the side of the stage, he could hear the sound of Layne vocal resonance come out of Layne's chest LOUDER than it did coming out of the speakers, Layne's voice was that powerful.

Yesssssssssss. So fucking happy you did this. You're right, one of the all time best performances. Confirmed my suspicion as well. That ending is just...my head exploded when I saw this a few years ago. This whole set is incredible, I recommend you watch more of it on your free time or even do another reaction (Man in the Box, It Ain't Like That, Bleed the Freak, etc..) You have to do Where Dragons Dwell by Gojira live at Hellfest 2013. Another one of the all time great performances, easily. Cheers dude.

Hey man! Great reaction! Just a note, AIC still tours, just with a new lead singer, William DuVall. He's not Layne, but he holds his own. I'm going to see them next month here in MN. See if they're coming near you, they still got it. Cheers!

Nancy Wilson of Heart said she had never heard anyone like Layne, she said music exploded out of him, not just from the microphone but he literally shock the stage and performers would gather at the sides of the stage because of his shear unmatched power. She also said singers like him only come around once in a lifetime if your lucky…and she has killer pipes herself✝️✝️✝️

Going to see them and Korn in July. Can’t wait. I never got to see Layne. I miss his vocals very dearly. But we are lucky enough to relive his wonderful voice through their previous work and videos of concerts. Also, he did one record with Mad Season and I loooove that album too! Thanks for the vid love seeing people to react to this ear porn!

A 4 piece band sounding like an orchestra! Unmatched and was lucky enough to have lived in Seattle in 1980s and 90s. Saw them for cheap. Bar to bar in beginning then venue to venue. Was the most fun I've had! Seattle was buzzing back then! Music heaven! 💞✌

Grunge had some amazing vocalists for sure. The Bb Layne hits in this song with distortion and vibrato is nuts. His vocal control is insane.

AIC is, and will always be one of the greatest bands EVER. I saw them in '92 here in Indianapolis, Indiana , I had only heard man in the box a couple times on the radio. Their performance was awesome. Layne Staley is so very missed in this world. Will never be another like him. This is my favorite song ❤️

Just binged all your TOOL and Gojira reactions. SO REFRESHING! You mentioned things in TOOL that I hadn’t noticed after countless times of listening! I have a couple request that are a bit different than your usual metal/hard rock reactions but I think you’ll enjoy: Ben Howard - Evergreen and Elder - Sanctuary KEEP IT UP MAN. THIS IS AWESOME. P.S. you’ll probably see this comment a few times cause of copy and past. 🤣

WOW! Layne Staley was a strong vocalist! If he were alive now, I'm sure he would have been a judge on "The Voice" or some reality music competition show. The other musicians (the drummer, bassist, lead guitarist) are phenomenal! I hope they make a biopic film on Alice In Chains.
