@@steveriley7796 Layne was taken down by life, man. Heroin was just life's tool to torment his soul in the pain of living and turn his body straight into ashes. LOVE, HATE, LOVE is his testament and the tears of mine every single time I listen to it are a natural tribute to that testament, the testament of a very special soul, a soul like no other. They all have tons of emotion, but Layne was something else. When he was functional.
@luked784 жыл бұрын
Id say Cornell was on another level as well...in fact, i think id have to say that Cornell was actually the more impressive vocalist in some ways....i mean, i really dont think Layne could ever have matched Chris's range, BUT, Laynes voice also had a distinctly unique quality that Chris probably couldnt match...as for the others, Weiland was more of a front man, Kurt, a song writer, and Eddie...well i guess Eddie was good at all of the above, but not necessarily master of any....

So many ppl don't realize the sarcasm in the beginning either....from 'back in the day' walking six miles in the snow to more Layne's sarcasm about the crowd not having anything better to do.....who says that ....hilarious.....he did seem so cool in a modest way. And great comments -- never heard anyone put it that way, but you got it where he has the skills and the range, but sings 'a certain way' on purpose. That's what I've always enjoyed about Layne's voice...the versatility from hard to soft....then harmonizing with Jerry....many reason why I love this band.....deep......angry & beautiful at the same time.
