The son was the guitarist for the band, he wrote the song for his dad. His callsign/nickname was Rooster. Thank you for this reaction. Was 82nd from 99 to 02, i just barely missed Kuwait and Iraq. Lost friends though. More after the fact.

I've seen two good friends die in front of me. I was shot at once and have been robbed twice. That said, it's nothing compared to war. I feel for the boys who have actually been in danger.

That's rough. I'm sorry you've had to endure that.

My husband is a Vietnam Vet and he gets same expression as "The Rooster" when asked questions.

The clips from the movie Platoon work perfectly for the song's theme.

First, thank you for your service- I stopped asking my Dad (two tours)- he would not speak of it. Ever. It’s not just “War” They were ordered to drop bombs on villages (women & children) as portrayed in the video…..THAT is what Nam was….. senseless…….

Thank you for your review. I have watched many reviews for this song and yours is the most important one I have seen. I can never understand what you went through. I thank you for your service and I'm very sorry for the way the Veterans were treated upon returning home. May you be blessed.

It's sad to find our now that the trigger for the war in Vietnam was a false flag. We had zero reason to be there.

Thank you for your service sir. My uncle is also a Vietnam veterans. The line where he sings they spit on me in my homeland breaks my heart. It was incredibly sad y’all had to go through it all. Thank you.
