Forgetting wonderland was a problem even for Alice. It was like struggling to remember a dream (inception). However actress did not ever appear to be truly trying. denial instead of struggle (WHO TO BLAME)

The film will hopefully be as good as the first one, I love the style and the cast (especially Mia Wasikowska). Great great great!

I wouldn't be surprised if Red Queen helps Alice. Have y'all noticed that in sequels, the villains from the first movies usually help the protagonists? Hahahaha 1. Magneto- X2. And I guess you can say DOFP since it's a sequel to First Class. 2. Dr. Doom- Rise of the Silver Surfer 3. Dr. Evil- Goldmember 4. Loki- Thor 2 5. Captain Barbosa- POTC 2-4. 6. Storm Shadow- G.I. Joe 2 7. Coach Walters- 22 Jump Street 8. Shelby- Best Man Holiday 9. Darth Vader- ROTJ 10. Mr. Harken- Horrible Bosses 2

I LOVED the first one !! Ever since D23 I've been trolling for info about this movie and besides the poster there was absolutely nothing ! I'm SO glad we finally get to see some footage ! I don't care what the critics say, that first movie is very close to my heart considering I was just 15 years old , the fact that I am now almost 21 years old makes me realise how fast time went by, and considering that this movie will be about time; this will be awesome :D

I liked the first one. As an avid fan of the books, I appreciated that it gave us another interpretation of Wonderland that was different from the cartoon and books. I would not be interested if the same thing was repeated every single time. Everyone has a different mind and tbh, none of the adaptations(cartoons, games,movies) have equaled what I imagined Wonderland to be but I'm still looking forward to this with an open mind. This is because everyone has their own interpretation and it would never match mine and that is alright

So it coming out against X-men who do you think will be victorious on that weekend? my bet are on X-Men because DOFP was pure awesomeness but the prequel to this made $1billion so...
@sarasamaletdin4574
@sarasamaletdin4574 9 жыл бұрын
+ken djunga I feel X-men has a ceiling in audience appeal and that was met with Days of Future Past. That film had excellent reviews and marketing and meeting of the new and old cast, so I do not see Apocalypse going any higher domestically and maybe only a but worlds wide. Alice in Wonderland made 334M domestically while Days of Future Past made 233M. Now Alice will certainly drop due to many disliking the previous film and because 3D is not as big as it used to be. But will it drop 100M? I feel it will not drop quite that much, the reviews would have to be abysmal for that to happen. There is nothing else for women around the release time either. However since comic book fans tend to see films quickly (DoFP made 90M opening weekend and Alice 116M so the latter had better legs) I would say Apocalypse wins the weekend. As for foreign box office, the rest of the world is not sick of 3D the way US is and the sequels nearly always make better worldwide so Alice wins easily.
@58kenstyle
@58kenstyle 9 жыл бұрын
Sara Samaletdin great points you made. Although you forgot that DOFP had an uphill battle yes first class was a great movie but most of the GP didn't see it and for them they associated the original cast and Hugh with turd like X-men 3 and X men origin: wolverine. But I totally get you even tho I want it to be so bad outgrows DOFP it will be a very difficult task for Apocalypse. Talking about difficult task those 2 huge movies open just a week or so after Civil War so competition for that one gonna tough as well.

+ken djunga last taime xmen DOFP was also up againts captain America and Godzilla both of which took 3 theatres each so when DOFP came out opening weekend it only had 3 theatres compared to caps 5 to 6 theatres opening weekend. Even Godzilla had 4 theatres opening weekend.

Loved the first film, cannot wait for this one. Enjoyed seeing a trailer w/the Jefferson Airplane's song "White Rabbit" playing in the background. Sacha Baron Cohen is a fantastic and generally under-rated actor (as evidenced in "Les Miserables") and I'm eager to see what he does with the role of Time.
@InJeffable
@InJeffable 9 жыл бұрын
2010's Alice in Wonderland was a neat and imaginative trip back to Wonderland/Underland, but I think it suffered from Lucas-itis. Green screen was so prevalent throughout that I think it hampered Mia's acting. The other actors were seasoned enough to deal with it, but I think Mia's inexperience at the time showed through in her comparatively flat performance. Even legendary actors can be negatively impacted by too much green screen (just look at Samuel L. Jackson in the Star Wars prequels), so I don't blame Mia for struggling with it. (As an aside, I really liked Mia's performance in Jane Eyre, so I know she can act.) So I wasn't a huge fan of the first film (although I didn't think it was terrible either), but I'm looking forward to the second one. I like the serious tone we're already seeing. I'm interested to see what they're going to do with Alice as a mature, established adult.

I think she dulled out her performance because she was in a dream and her senses were supposed to be low. Plus it looked like her character, Alice, didn't get much sleep because of the dark circles around her eyes. So that might be why she was dull in her acting. (When we sleep we don't really question things as much and everything moves too fast to be able to react)

Pet Shop it's all good, I could understand why people would be upset about it. Whether it was story, visually, or simply didn't do the Alice in Wonderland justice towards the source. Plus I had enough complaints to deal with by my friends who are huge fans of Alice and Wonderland. I believe they mentioned the books they have read and other stuff. So they know a lot of about the lore. Sadly I don't know too much. Plus I am open with certain movies. lol

I'm not sure it was specifically the feminist tones that rubbed people the wrong way about the first one. I had no issue with Alice trying to break the mold and be a strong woman in a society that historically made women second class citizens, I just didn't think it was that good movie. Visually it was interesting but I felt the story was really lacking and made me question why it needed to be a sequel to the book and not just a re imagining. Same with Maleficent, I'm all for strong female characters, God knows we need more of them, just give them a better story to work within. Beauty and the Beast though, awesome film, best Disney movie in my opinion and the strong female character to boot. I guess what I'm saying is, I don't think it's fair to categorize people who didn't like Alice in Wonderland or Maleficent as having problems with feminism in their movies.

Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking-Glass are nowadays two of my all-time favorite books. Back when Tim Burton's movie came out, I had only read Alice in Wonderland, and honestly found the changes they did to the story almost offensive. Until this day, I find the first movie one of the less entertaining things I've ever seen, but after reading Through the Looking-Glass, I can respect the script of movie a little bit. But... answering your question: No, this trailer is not enough to sell me the ticket. Not at all, actually. Seeing Alice's perfect story turned into an adventure once was already too much. I could give it a chance if they went in yet another competely different direction, but this looks too much like a direct sequel to me.

Looks cool. Feels a bit too much like Narnia for some reason though.

It definitely has a beautiful design! Like candy for the eyes 😍 I wasn't very happy with the first movie, but since I love the Alice in Wonderland franchise, I'll give this sequel a try. One question, did Alice have a British accent in the first movie? she sounds so different. Also, since she's the main character I hope she'll have more life in this sequel! She was like a block of wood in the first one. I disliked her for that reason. The hatter is looking super cute 😆 aww 💜💚

my problem with the first Alice In Wonderland was that it didn't have so many of the aspects that I LOVED from the animated version like the unique forest creatures and there was just something about the style of that world, with it's stark black darkness that I just loved and I suppose in hindsight it was unrealistic for me to expect that in the live action version. but come on, I can't be the only person that developed an affection for the pencil bird, or the glasses bird, or the sweeping dog, or the precious family of horn ducks, etc. That was the unique kind of weirdness I expected. And the thing I remember hating the most other than the (what I remember as) lame story, was those stupid fucking spiral trees. I still hate them and I've never rewatched that movie but since this trailer came out I'm about to rewatch it! Let's see if time has changed anything.

I read a lot of reviews for Alice in Wonderland and at the time no one said it was feminist. The movie looked good but it was a bit dull
