We've not gone backwards! Do you not remember the last 10-11 years. We've stood still playing rubbish football since moyes. The glazers ARE to blame for us not improving. They put $$$$'s first and $$$$'s last and they have absolutely no football knowledge and did employ "leaders" that had no knowledge too. Now we really have to just roll with it until maybe one day we start to move forward. After 6 games we still look dreadful but some of the players didn't join up until after season had started so do need lots of time to adapt to English football and each other.

He plays the way he wants to play without considering the strengths and weaknesses of his players. Ronaldo couldn't press so he sat a 20+ goal a season player on the bench. Adapting to available players and different opposition seems to be something that TH has struggled with. In addition to man management difficulties, I feel like TH struggles with the media at interviews. It's such a difference when interviewers seemed to almost fear Alex Ferguson, to Ten Hag who seems anxious and evasive in press conferences. I don't get a sense of 'belief' in Ten Hag. He'll be a good manager for a number of teams, I'm not seeing it overall for United yet, and it has been over 2 years now. There's maybe a bit too much rigidity in Ten Hag's personality.

Xabi Alonso would be a great choice to manage Man Utd but it may be a pipe dream given how well he is doing in Germany. He may well end up at Real Madrid. Also would not be surprised to see him at Anfield one day.

Xavi is a great coach, but it takes much more to get United in the right direction. I think many great managers try to avoid United at the moment. Carlo Ancelotti is great at Madrid (a well run club), but Everton was the prove a good manager can not do wonders it needs a club with good all in all conditions for a good manager to function in the best possible way. Ten Hag will do fine in better run club, Bayern Munich was somehow interested in Ten Hag to replace Tuchel. And Tuchel rejected to get more into details after first talks with United. It's a very sad situation that United isn't performing well and no other manager after Sir Alex is capable to perform in a similar way.

I have to admit, this is one of the few times that i have ever been undecided as to whether i want United to win their next couple of games or not. I have supported EtH thus far, but our abysmal petformance in the 0-3 away win at Southampton was enough for me. I have never been so depressed after a win. We were shocking and very lucky against a recently promoted team who, at that point, had not won a game, had scored the fewest goals, played the better football in the first half, missed a penalty and had a player sent off. And we only scored our third with 15 seconds of injury time left. A win, yes, but no style or promise of improvement. Forward fast a few weeks, and now we aren't even getting a win. We don't have bad players. Ergo, the problem has to be elsewhere...

Some criteria that is need for me if there is a new manager, outside of style of play, tactics etc. (as I think those will be a given) are: 1. Aura - a manager that players and media see and think "this is the guy, trust him". 2. Strong personality and mentality - something we need instilled in the team, someone who can help reset the culture. 3. A good communicator - Media and working the media is a huge part of why ETH is currently under pressure. We need a guy who can wrangle the media into helping him and be something that adds pressure to him.
