When that day comes I wish to have the opportunity to ask Alicia Keys what kind of feelings and emotions she had when she wrote this song because honestly there was a time when I was in a dark space for a while and when I first heard this song in 2022 , I couldn’t believe how accurate and specific this song was to how was I feeling at the time (music is so timeless) I come back to this song , most especially this specific live performance to find clarity, direction and motivation to keep on moving. Let me tell yall something. I remember when this album came out. I saw her, Beyonce, and Missy and the Ladies First Tour in Anaheim. If im not mistaken, this was a song She performed.
