The most terrifying thing about this game was the limited ammo, which wasnt that common in snes games back then. I remember spending hours on this as a kid, scared shitless at night, then running out of ammo, and i was like "WELP.........." This video deosnt really represent what the game is actually like to play.. Because he knows exactly where he's going at every point. When you dont, you spend hours trying every door trying to find maps and trying to figure shit out. That drains your ammo.

Are you kidding me? The music is woeful and repetitive. The same track in-game throughout the entire game. The Sega Mega Drive version has much better music, but the game is otherwise inferior to the SNES version in most ways.

I love this game. It has great, smooth graphics, great control, and is just hard enough. I played it all the time. The sound design is good too, even though the music is repetitive. Plus at the end your character commits SUICIDE. Crazy for the time. I'd love to play it again.

Superior to the Sega Mega Drive version in most ways. Only thing Sega did better was the sound effects for the pulse rifle, the music, and having more variety of background environments (but only just beating the SNES version in this last aspect). The gameplay, variety of different alien forms, and mission format makes the SNES version superior overall. I never owned a SNES as a teenager and only ever played this as a ROM.

probably one of the 10 best videogames based on movies of all time. I knew evry inch of this game inside out when i was a kid. the score is even today so dramatic and perfect. SNES aera is undoubtedly my most favorite til today.

1:39:11 How did that adult alien die from one grenade when it needs at least 2 by stage 4, it didn't even explode with a death cry either, just vanished No damage just doesn't seem feasible, especially from stage 4 and onwards when facehuggers can climb ladders vertically. As you climb up/down an air shaft, they can instantly materialize above or below you, and there's a slight dead zone for your pulse rifle and flamer where the hit will not register unless you put some distance between yourself and the facehugger

This game gave me nightmares as a kid. The prisoner rescue mission and the final mission scared the living hell out of me so bad to where I would wake up out of deep sleeps thinking about it.

I used to think the "SULACO" text on the side of the ship said "BULAOO" because it's really hard to read. I hadn't actually seen the films yet, so I didn't know what it should've said. Also my older sister lied to be and told me "logging off" meant pooping, and we'd joke that the terminals were also toilets.

Its a great game especially how they mixed Aliens weapons with Alien 3 planet and story just my issue was finding where to bloody go to do the missions you could be going everywhere until you come to the actual area you need to be. And ammo conservation was key you couldn't go around shooting everything unless you had a 2nd controller and used the cheats that is

The text's font at 1:39 is similar to the intro text during the intro of Super Metroid when Samus is talking except the text is green in that game. This game also came out a year before Super Metroid. 😮😲

This is so much better than the Sega Genesis version. The Sega Genesis version has a timer and is very repeative with no storyline at all. This is what Alien 3 movie should have been, but never was.

Alien need a game like this with kind of ori or hollow knight vibe. I would like an alien infectious progress game with the level progress in atmosphere too. And an real infestation slowly in a ship kind of. Castlevania sotN like but instead inversed map at the end the map is completly corrupted by alien zone.

Have you ever seen the Gameboy version of Alien 3? I wonder if SNES Alien 3 had perhaps been better if it had all taken place on a single large map with a handful of missions and there being a gradual build up, from fixing systems to eliminating hives and adult alien until the player could confront the Queen.

Nawww give it to Insomniac they had the Resistance games where it fit the vibe more with the Alien universe then.... Halo. Only exception is the Resistance games didn't take place in outer space but that could easily be implemented should it be required to do so. I'd go with Insomniac over Bungie for an Alien game. I mean the Resistance games had cocoons as well with creatures inside them that would try to kill you when you would destroy it. Resistance universe fits with the Alien lore much better then the Halo games. Either would do a great job though in the end

I love this game, but after every stage repeating the same missions and in different quantities, the game becomes boring. Also the fact that there are no deaths for the prisoners also doesn't do anything, cause it would had been better to have a level of tension in not being able to accomplish the mission of saving them and see the aliens actually cause some harm or even the facehuggers impregnating the prisoners and seeing the chestbursters come out. Another thing that would had been better is to have the Aliens' explosions cause some damage to force a distance and weapon choice to avoid being hit by body parts flying or blood spray. The "Mother" Aliens were another issue as well, they just jump all over and aren't even animated and are easily killed. The programing on the foes of turning back some distance is cheap and really dumb, some Beta Versions take that away and all the foes follow you to the doors and cause you damage if you don't kill them in time. Also in the Betas the prisoners are seen with Cocooning resin on. One more thing, Aliens should also climb vertically on the tunnel stairs and all aliens should be able to. Aside all that I still love this game as tedious and boring as it gets, the Soundtrack is phenomenal and the intro and over all atmosphere is superb.

The reason why there are weapons in the game is because when Probe was asked to develop the game, they were just given a summary of the film. It was only after the game was made that the staff got to see the movie which was radically different with the idea of not using weapons (as for why this was so in the movie, Sigourney Weaver agreed to make the movie only if they eschewed the idea of the heroine using firearms, which was inspired by Sigourney being an advocate for gun control).

Привет. В игре все колонисты нужны. Они фрагменты миссий. Кладки яиц тоже бывает идут по миссии, а бывает просто необходимо уничтожить чтобы спокойно пройти по своему пути.

I loved NES and Genesis versions (they are similar games just with better graphics and music on Sega) but couldn't stand the SNES version for some reason. For one, I absolutely hate the music here, it's some generic "movie chords on loop" compared to sinister pulsating electronic tracks of the Genesis version. Also 90% of the gameplay seems to consist of you running and running and running some place, the map is just too big for it's own good. The Genesis version is no masterpiece, of course, but this game is just plain awful.

This game is pretty stupid, isnt it? I find it funny how the prisoners are trapped in chains. Ya, I remember how the aliens used chains to trap humans, yes,yes..... Uhm, why is she jumping so slow? It's like the gravity on moon. What's wrong there? .... Why don't the aliens attack? Some of them are like frozen, they don't even move. Others dont jump from the ceiling, they are just walking there..... How easy can you take down these aliens? 1 bullet from the machine-gun and they die. WTF? .... And why is the music so annoying? Super-dramatic music, but the aliens dont attack or are gone after 1 bullet. The aliens dokt even follow, you can jump over them and run. What's that? .... And why is the mission-computer pointing on 8 eggs in a row? It's enough to show 1 target, not necessary to point on all eggs. .... The best thing is the intro... I absolutely prefer the SEGA-version.

I have this game emulated, and I have Beta versions of it. In at least one of the Betas, the prisoners have strands of Alien Resin on them. I remember in the promotional material of the game in Nintendo Magazines, these images were there, but I was surprised to see that they weren't on the game itself. And it was a surprise as well as seeing this in fact on the Beta version. Other Betas had the Aliens not stop at a distance from doors and at junctions on the ladders, they would pursue you completely through them. Drop from anywhere and even the Aliens seen scaling up the ladders in the tunnels. So I think that the problem was what they actually released.
