It's been 15 years. I think it's time for Alien 5 3.

There is just so much brilliance in these 30 minutes. The editing, the sounds lifted from the 2001 Avp2 PC game, the random ass cameos (Harry fucking Potter), Bishop being moody AF, the hilarious insanity of a sentient ape speaking deadpan lines and nobody thinking twice about it, the McGuyveresque special effects (using a laser pointer for the Predator's plasma). An all time fan film classic

I remember this video from way back in the day when it was in parts. Honestly this thing inspired me to try my own hand at this. I never uploaded my own final products (probably for the best), but they make for great memories, and I guess I have you to thank for that!!!

This is a double nostalgia trip for me - first, because I grew up with Kenner Alien toys, and second, because I have strong memories of watching this in my dorm room during my freshman year of college, 03/04. As it was pre-KZbin, I must have watched it on your website.

Thanks so much! I love when people rediscover us. Yes, I used to have a website pre-YT, but sadly let it wither and die. I need to make a new one. You might like some of my newer stuff. Hope you check it out.

Damn. I remember watching this when I saw it on KZbin and I loved it. I wonder if there be an Alien 5³ to an follow up after Ripley have to kill the Chestburster after it burst from Cindy.
@probotanimation3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I love it when old fans rediscover our videos! A lot of people have requested a sequel over the years, and I hate to leave everyone hanging. I just have lots of other inspiration beyond the Alien franchise. If I did a sequel, I would probably do it with NECA figures. But that chestburster got torched, so it's not as big of a concern as the psychological scars of burning Cindy's still twitching corpse. I had thought of starting a 3rd movie 10 years later: Ripley and Chimpums emerge from the bunker with their kids, for whom I'd use old school Planet Of The Apes characters, and Earth has been overrun with Xenomorphs... but that's as far as I got with the idea, lol!

This is probably going to be a weird question, but did this ever get any sort of VHS release? I remember seeing a homemade Alien movie made with the Kenner toys at a video store in Somerville, MA (it's not there anymore, can't remember the name but it closed in 2014 or 2015, I think.). Never got the chance to rent it, but it looked similar. Is this maybe the same thing?
@probotanimation4 жыл бұрын
It's actually the sequel to that video. We had lived a few blocks away from that video store, but it was on Mass ave in Cambridge I thought. Maybe it moved, but not far from Somerville. We made our first toy videos in our cramped apartment for broadcast on local cable access TV, but also on the shelf at that one store. Then in 2000 we moved to LA and made this "big budget" sequel in 2003.

@@probotanimation Far out! Thanks for the response, and thanks for the info: I've been itching to see and learn more about it, having seen some of it once on a KZbin vid, but quickly losing track of it. Oh, and great job! Super entertaining! Also, I have absolutely no doubts that you're right about that video store location (great place, but I only discovered it a few weeks before they shut down. Bummer!). Just seeing the box on the shelves made my day. At any rate, any chance of uploading the first film? Thanks again!
@probotanimation4 жыл бұрын
@@PlugHED1980 It's a bit slow compared to my later work, but here it is. It took about 6 months to film, shot in sequence and edited (at first) only in-camera. Later re-edited digitally to improve the pacing as much as possible. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mne0lHh-gaikgpo

I'm very sorry about the reposting. There was a green line on the side that was driving me nuts. It would only show up after upload, not on the original file. I had to try different export settings to get rid if it. This is the final version.
