This video was originally planned to go live over a week ago, but due to illness i left it unpublished. You tube is a very unforgiving place when a creator is too sick to be making stuff. Anyway, a great little co-op game here, very thematic and fun if a little derivative in places. Defintely worth having a go of if you like co-ops or the Alien movie. And i don't think its a particularly expensive game either

Great overview but a slight correction. Horrified was designed by the design collective Prospero Hall, while I designed ALIEN Fate of the Nostromo. Any similarities are merely coincidental.

Fascinating. Because it feels very much like a modified version of horrified, right down to the 3-5 actions per character and pick up and deliver resolution system. Even the packaging and overall feel of the box seems related. I've played Pandemics that felt less like pandemic than this feels like a mod of horrified. Well, only you know what process you went through to make the game, but to an outsider, the game 100% feels like horrified was the start point of the design.

Getting attacked by the alien only reduces the overall morale? Is it just really rude to people?

its spooking them. Think of it less as a direct attack and more the many scenes where they encounter it and flee

I did think this lol, however if it was equivalent to the aliens actual ability in the film you'd be fucked the second it entered the room with you, so I guess the moral system is the best compromise they could reach to sustain multiple attacks on the player.

Horrified is sooo fun Last night we played a 3 player vs 3 monsters game and it was such enjoyable game We limit "one" special action for each heroes turn to make the game a little more thinky

Thanks for the video. I'll put in a good word for a non-IP game, that is very much a homage to the original Alien movie - Lifeform. It's definitely a meatier experience, albeit the core actions / gameplay aren't that complex, but a bit more than this, along with a few somewhat over-fiddly rules that make occasional appearances.

Decent game, a little bit on rails to the follow the movie. Not as bad as the Die Hard game, which I haven't played but i've heard is strictly the same game each time. Looked forward to Alien but only played it a few times after getting it. I think the Jaws game was a bit more unpredictable and diverse, whilst also following the basic structure of the movie.

Sort looks like Burgle Bros, minus the variable map, difficulties, larger player variability, guards; and movie theme. You ever tried this one?

Players argue about special abilities. Page 4 Special abilities: Can use multiple times unless otherwise stated. Ripley with 4 actions can use all her actions to move other crew up to 4 times if she doesn't do anything else. Brett pays no action on crafting items so can keep crafting until he runs out of scrap or space on his card - others only once per turn. This game is tougher with 5 characters. Optimum chance of success with 3.

Kia ora koutou. It is Te Reo Maori for "hello to you all". Te Reo Maori is an official language of Aotearoa/New Zealand where i am from, and is the language of the indigenous Maori.
