I’ve enjoyed Alien: Fate of the Nostromo quite a lot. The equipment mechanic was well made and added a neat layer to the mostly simplistic gameplay. It really does have the “Alien” feel.

Looks great, and the whole Morale as Hit Points gives the impression that the Alien is basically toying with it's food...

How does this compare in term of anxiety and tension vs Nemesis. I know this is easier and doesn’t have a heavy table presence which I appreciate, I can’t get nemesis because it’s too big and has too many loose parts. But I love how tense Nemesis is. I like that type of semi co op (already got Dead of Winter) but love the alien type situation.

I would say the tension of going into a room with a conceal token or within a couple spaces of the alien is on par with moving into a room with a couple noise markers. Nostromo is easier to learn, but I wouldn't say it's easier to win. With more than 1 or maybe 2 players it can be extremely difficult. If you're looking for an inexpensive Nemesis style game you can play with the kids, Nostromo is a fair substitute.

12:05 Also BGG FAQ "Motion Tracker, the cost shown in the rulebook is incorrect. Amend the 3 in the rulebook to a 2 to match the reference cards which specify the cost as 2." Also Q: "The Set-up graphic doesn't reflect the set up instructions. What do I do? A: It's an error. Ignore the image and follow the text of the rule book." I know how that happens depending on when different components are illustrated and printed but it's a big IP (yes in a game where no one dies lol) (Ravensburger's Jaws illustrates Brody in the incorrect starting space . fwiw look no further than WizKids D&D board games for poor editing). An ALIEN Objective card that I don't have in front of me says 'Drive 'em ...' (sounds like rustlin' cattle with Brett's Electric Prod lol) the movie line is 'Drive it ...' An eagle-eyed BGG user noted "Jonesy had a collar on the game box art....they’ve actually drawn Goose from Captain Marvel!" (The exact pose from a photo). Sidenote: Stephen Buonocore he of Stronghold Games 'Survive: Space Attack!' 15:50 the Conceal token reveals an air shaft but yeah it looks like a hatch ;

When u move into a space with the alien. Lose morale, move your character 3 spaces, turn ends. Correct?

I might be wrong but I think with only 4 players there should be only 4 objectives cards. I think that was in the manual.

Honestly, I think the players plus 1 should be the hard mode, at least based on my experiences with this game.

Game is fun thanks for posting this. Very helpful watching a game unfold since it helps me with the rules and my son loves it. But you guys missed a couple of chances to use weapons items that might have kept your morale counter higher and bought you a little more time. Except I think you were doomed anyway :)

The rule book is soooo bad; and there are inconsistences and mistakes on components. The game is fun and actually feels tense like the movie. Just needs a new book
