From some of the OPR Posts: - All models being reworked in some way except spores and swarms but they are included in the release - 3 month release schedule for the whole army instead of 6 months as normal - If you had purchased previous versions, you may get the updated for some of them. I don't remember if they said all or not.

@@hauntswargaming Eh, I got it with 70% off, so I am not all that upset - and still have the old models in my collection. They have SERIOUSLY retconned the background on the Alien Hive - adding a lot more variety to their relationships with other species. (The Dao Coalition waved - the Hive waved back. The Battle Brothers on the other hand....) I kind of preferred the unintelligent Alien Hive of old, but I can see why they wanted versatility.

@@YeAuldGrump yeah I'm in the same boat. I subbed right at the tail end of the first release so I used the discount code for most of the line. I kind of like that the AH are more sentient than Tyranids. 🤷‍♂️ Narratively it gives me more to work with.

@@hauntswargaming Aside from Havoc, they have pretty much done away with Always The Bad Guy - which I approve of. And, yeah, I have to admit that having intelligent Hives does give them motives beyond Eat Everything. And that it was NOT the Hive that fired the first shots makes them more sympathetic. I prefer the new Robot Legions - and can see them working with pretty much everybody except the High Elf Fleets (even other elves really don't seem to like the High Elves much). I think that was first hinted at in the Grimdark Future webcomic.

I've had really good success magnetizing resin prints for my Tau army. If drilling/chipping is a concern, use a hobby knife to make a little pilot divot and drill slowly by hand. I've only had a part break from drilling one time, and that was because I tried to drill out a very thin part and it snapped in half. I was however able to glue it back together and there isn't a visible seam where it broke.

For me it's the fear of the pieces cracking when they're snapped together. Plus 3d printing is so cheap, I've yet to run into a situation where magnetizing has made sense. For drilling, I'd suggest a Dremel over a power drill if that's what you're using. :P

Bro I was just about to download these haha going to do my next army using a mix of some of the new files and some by other creators :-) Been with OPR for like 2 years now so good :-) Doing my Human Defence Force atm all printed from mostly The Makers Cult and a bit from ThatEvilOne.

Alien Hives is what originally got me into OPR, my only disappointment was that many of them looked a bit too human, and not enough alien, mainly the warriors. Overall good comparison.

Yea, that's fair. I like the look of the guardians a lot more than the warriors. They seem to be moving away from that look though.

I asked them if it'd be worth downloading the updated files, cause I couldn't really tell for some of the ones I looked at, found a post of the updates they're doing. It was posted on patreon May 17th update #3. Mostly retexturing, and adding new weapons. I printed out the prime gunners to use as barbgaunts, and some of the melee weapons are far too big and look weird, but the guns are all amazing ! Also printed out a winged prime to use a tyranid winged prime, the GW one is awful looking.

Well they are releasing the empire line too which is a pretty solid line so far. They've been talking about reworking the Alien Hives for a while. Can't really fault them for good timing 🤷‍♂️

@@hauntswargaming thats kind off wy im dissapointet thik AH was great as they were .and opr are there ovn place and time. and still meny factions thy shout focus on. The Empire line is why my sub is stil active and it is off good walue but when we had month with 3 armies for most of last year still this feels a bit meh.

One of the nice things about 3D printing is you can scale the models however you like :p I'm going to give the tyrant a try. Some of the concept art they have shown for other stuff is promising. Meaning other models will look more alien.

Idk honestly. I think Gaetano may have addressed that during their last stream. I printed a LOT of them lol I still have like 4000pts of unpainted stuff that might never get painted now :p a lot of the changes to the infantry are just weapons updates so you could always just replace the arms for those if you want.

Hi I was wondering if you ever planned on continuing your factory project, it seems it's been awhile so i'm asking. I'm working on a dnd campaign and on top of creating new game mechanics and lore, i'm also building terrain and your video was one of the few i felt i could watch for reference as im making my own factory. That video it showed too tricks i can use while building also, the first is using clay for bricks which i think worked super well for you and the other is using sand and glue to strenghten stuff.

It's a shame they didn't touch up those damned wings. They just look unfinished and amateurish, especially when sitting right behind those hyper detailed new weapons.

I can't say I have an issue with the wings, but I try to avoid printing anything that's got an easy break point so I usually avoid smaller models with wings anyway :p
