Venus could be colonised with balloons, which would be super easy since Venus has such a thick atmosphere that the habitat can just use Earth air and it would naturally float at the point in Venus' atmosphere with Earth atmospheric pressure, meaning that the balloon itself could double as the living area. Plus the additional bonus that the temperature is only 75 Celsius up there, which is still hot but manageable. Power could also be generated by suspending another module slightly lower than the balloon, then pumping water down and up it, the higher air temperature lower down allowing for geothermal energy production (or aerothermal in this case). The only real snag is water, since it's scare in the Venusian atmosphere.
