I think the whole story of David is a tale of hurt ego. He is superior in every way to a human, yet still when meeting the first Engineer he was deemed unworthy and dismembered. And in creation of xenomorphs is his revenge, fueled by hatred towards his creator`s creators. Who are they to deem him unworthy, being imperfect inturn?

Could you do a more in-depth video on the Engineers. I think it’s interesting how near god-like entities worships a feral creature whose blood re-writes living things. Or how their technology is sophisticated yet so simplistic. How can they awaken a Juggernaut with sound of a flute? The entire ship seems almost organic- while other parts don’t. Also, their hierarchy. Each rank is a bit different- augmented specifically for a role, whether it is a military pilot, an emissary, a planet seeder, or an actual genetic engineer. From what I understand, the more “unique” ranks live for thousands of year while the un-altered, also refers to as “original” Engineers, only live for roughly 150 years. I also think it’s real interesting how they refer to the xenomorphs as “seeders.” Like, even though the xenomorph kills its host during birth- it’s still being born, while its host dies. So every time something dies, something else is created, which is why they are referred to as “seeders.” A life is given for every time it’s taken.

I disagree with them being seeders. They are more like roundup weed killer to eradicate a species. They’d die off in a thousand years which is nothing to the engineers who are traveling galaxies to seed planets. Thid allows the engineers to come back and seed a new strain of humans in hopes they obey their gods.

3:39 Adding a "var." (variety) suffix to the name to specify it's host seems like a good idea to me. For example, _Linguafoeda acheronsis_ var. _Homo sapiens_ for xenomorphs formed within human hosts, or _Linguafoeda acheronsis_ var. _Predator_ (or whatever it's scientific name is) for those formed within Predators.

An engineer ship with xenomorph eggs that produce a queen on lv426 for hundreds of years only 80 years after David created the first xenomorph. The planet that david destroyed is not Paradise, Sir Ridley Scott has stated that he hopes to bring Paradise into the story on the next film. David only destroyed a planet that had been seeded by the Engineers similar to how earth had been.

P. Praepotens is the Scientific name given for XX121 Classic Xenomorphs in the Alien TTRPG from Free league press. The other variants also have their own Scientific names and I will stick to the one in the TTRPG for convenience. But the names given in some of the other media are completely new to me and all seem pretty good!

I think you and the majority of the Alien fans all feel the same way. I was surprised to hear that AcidGlow actually liked that aspect. Most other streamers or reviews I've seen that talk on this subject feel disappointed by Ridley Scott trying to take the Alien origin in that direction. Especially when in the comics they have their own "Home World" and everything.

At this point I find the David mythology infinity more interesting than yet another bug hunt based movie. Very interesting stuff that Ridley Scott seems to be exploring further in Raised by Wolves, but I accept a lot of Alien fans are disappointed with the prequels.

I loved it. The idea that as imperfect beings, our attempt at creating perfection (i.e. David 8), would lead to our destruction at the hands of our creation is very poignant. Its a huge departure from the direction that Alien/Aliens took tonally, but it is far more interesting to me than just another monster movie. Where the mindless ravenous scary thing comes from who knows where. Not that this is a problem, but its been done to death already.

Amazing vid here. One thing I always felt since the beginning of the new aliens generation was that everything is both convoluted AND kind of magical. Like organic life can balloon hundreds of times in size with no matter to consume. Did the engineer facehugger eat metal? it was all just rife with wacky plot holes... that said it was huge. A very big thing, and I really loved David. a beautiful mess!

Out of universe, I'm sure the writers on Prometheus and Covenant just weren't worried about tying the franchises together. In-universe, my idea is that the bugs have been around for a long time as a result of Engineers using the goo, and David was essentially trying to create them from scratch to show how good a creator he was (even though he's essentially just copying the Engineers' work)

Picture shown at 7:56 is not the black goo but the blood of the first Deacon ( born by impregnating an Engineer by an ancient alien ''facehuger'' type of organism ) which Engineers employed upon the death of the first Deacon as a biological catalyst to seed ''virgin'' planets with their DNA in the hope of creating ofsspring races similar to Engineeers but with the key ability to naturally reproduce , which Engineers had lost through out the ages. Humans on planet Earth and the specie on Planet 4 are the results of this ''planetary seeding '' . Now the black goo or also known as chemical a0-3959x.91-15 is Engineers attemp to synthesize the blood of the first deacon but instead of getting what they wanted they got a catalyst for chaos and figured out they could use this as a biological weapon to erase life on planets as opposed to the blood of the first deacon serving them to seed life on planets .

I guess I'ma be the negative one here in the comments . The video is very well done salute. That being I personally didn't like the origin story and how the Xenos were created by some rogue droid in some lab. I think it would have been better if they would have originated on there own home world maybe some dark desolate planet somewhere and had already been an established species . It's an infinite universe so the facts that there could possibly some kinda of alien like that is very plausible . As far as the engineers that part was cool and original I actually liked them no issue there . I dunno just wish that the xenos were from there own planet it could have fit better with the predator cannon to seeing as they are intergalactic hunters who go to different planets to hunt and that they discovered them before humans did .

David is the creator of the beings we’ve come to know as xenomorphs in the aliens franchise. The black goo appears to predate the movie and the deacon appears to be worshiped or revered by the engineers. Suggests that the alien in the form of the deacon and/or goo may have been a deity of some sort to the engineers. It is unclear what existed prior to David messing with the black goo however.

As far as I've seen when an engineer comes into contact with the black goo they have disintegrated. Perhaps its because they have messed with their genetics already to the point where the goo just disintegrates them instantly. Just my own theory.

I think the Space Jockey is a different race that saw what the black goo could do, and was going to use it to destroy the galaxy, but fell victim to it's own hubris. The Engineers simply found the goo and used it to help life, instead of destroying it. It was said before the xenomorphs were a test. We haven't seen who created the xenomorph. Perhaps the creature worshipped by the Engineers are these unseen creatures, but aren't like the Xenomorphs we know. Or perhaps, it's the caveman stage of the Xenomorphs?

The Aliens as we know of them were already in existance in the AVP films, even if you discount those films however. In predator two you can see an alien skull. So David didn't create anything he just replicated it at best. That would be a good twist actually him finding that out and it popping his ego finding out hes not that smart after all. I hated Covenant it wasted the aliens, wasted the build up and even wasted Promethius which still could have fit into established lore. Covanant just ruined everything as it seems though that series is cancelled hopefully they can be retconned or ignored.

Its cool how there is different military expireiments of how different space wars have to take place. Xenomorph, Neomorph, Besomorph, Protomorph, Sephmorph. Sometimes you can't stop wars from happening but you can prepare for them. Thinking back tu ANCIENT times. I love hearing about how I am really here... Im still wondering who created the xenomorph we see in the original movie. We've yet to get an answer on it. Every xenomorph we see David create is completely organic but the xenomorph in the original movie looks like it has mechanical components built into its body. Sucks that the franchise is basically dead in the water because im really curious about that.

05:38 "They banished the Wolves." This could be a stretch, but hear me out, since I know Ridley Scott had touched on creation, religions, and more in the extended notes and idea of Prometheus. Having concepts such as a Christ-being checking up on Humans after a long time only to have it killed and determined a failed experiment. (Seriously-Not kidding) But then we've also got this new "Raised by Wolves" series RS did for HBO MAX in 2020 which, like Covenent, was "supposed" to keep Aliens and the Religilous/Creation ideas in separate timelines and universes. Raised By Wolves is... kind of 'out there' , to put it mildly, BUT its not the worst sci-fi and psychological stuff out there. Not the best, either. Still... I enjoy a good psychological/religious/is it technology or paranormal existential crisis/mystery. Show what the hell. Maybe a re-telling, maybe what he intended with Prometheus but in a different way... or maybe its nothing and I'm just bored. But I do like looking for patterns. Ideas in one series, by the same writer, to explain things in another series by the same writer, with some things that already DO carry over such as the milky android stuff and pure non-biological life maybe can't raise biological life... or it can?? That series is still very early but I think its worth considering. So, when I heard "They banished the Wolves" I tried to think back to what that COULD mean in that particular series. Granted, they claimed there are 5-seasons worth of material for "Raised by Wolves", so I couldn't help but think of what a second season could mean as it is likely underway already. In this case, as mentioned, the "Wolves" are strongly hinted at being android/biological-influenced life trying to raise biological actual life on a distant planet. There is a nitrogen-oxygen atmosphere but otherwise little water and crops have difficulty growing there. Some type of large/reptile race seemed to exists before, strongly suggested at these snakes mentioned before. There's flying Snakes, Androids with white blood (or whatever it is), Necromancers (androids reprogrammed with DARK PHOTONS - supposedly the Fifth Force of the Universe) that can kill with their voices, fly, and possibly other things we don't know yet. The Androids arrive first and after some ten plus years later, another Atheist ship arrives, and apparently in this universe if your not the right faith it will get you killed. There is also some sort of super-intelligence on Keplar-22b, most likely digital and machine-based or even a hybrid based on how it communicates and interacts with with the others. Also, in that universe, they follow this Mythaic Religions vs. Christianity so there are stand-ins for that too. Mythraism became dominant vs. Christianity and the Mythraic also stated that their ancient scriptures led them to this new holy land, how to harness this new technology, and other specific things that are too uncanny to be a broad guess. But it can also be a new EDEN, as they now are in the tropical, since travelling through a planet's core (you'd have to watch the series) would be literally, quite impossible, at least as we understand physics here and now. So, the whole Garden of Eden/Creation cycle as well as another version of what is real or not, could be happening right in front of us. What appears to be the Magical/Religious coming true right before us, just in a way we don't understand or see. So stories are told and with almost almost oral-traditions?? Maybe the truth is somewhere between magic and science, the past and the future, the known and the unknown... making perfect sense to those the next-level down on the biological ladder but to the rest of us?? Its not so clear, so parables and stories are designed to try and tell and explain the real from the unreal, hoping someone may look between the lines and understand. In "Raised by Wolves", it may be a super-intelligent computer or mechanical being of some sort, able to do all sorts of god-like things, or at least be familiar with humanity enough... to a species unfamiliar with how reality actually functions. For the rest of things, it sure appears quite 'magical' or perhaps divine to us, doesn't it now?? But to beings observing thousands of years in the past?? Or some paralell universe?? Could seem to be pretty incredible and magical. Perhaps even Divine. Time loops, paradoxes, and influences between the Aliens-verse and some variation thereof in Keplar 22-b... Anyone else watch THAT series, recaps of it, and compare it to other things Ridley Scott has done here and see some comparisons? Plus the Prometheus/Covenant and Comics/Games vs. Romulus and Remus we see in the and and wanna look into the Rabbit Hole with me?? I'm not saying it's all connected. Just that some things may help each of these respective world-building places with others that show up in different places or symbols of??
