My husband is a lot like Bill . . . he spent most of his childhood years in South Florida and used to fish and dive in fresh and salt water. He as an ecletic collection of scars on his arms from all sorts of things but no fish bites. Before he goes back, he wanted to get inoculations for hepatitis and other things. His doctor asked why and when he explained, the doctor agreed and signed off on it.

You know, all of these first contact and trade stories... i can honestly see first contact with earth being a screw up. Picture a small freighter miss jumping into earth system, picking up radio signals, throwing on the auto translation system, finding a control tower freq, asking for beacon freqs for landing, and landing at a major airport

That would certainly explain all those UFO reports with the fuzzy blinking lights that look suspiciously like aircraft landing lights.

Dumb question, but how common is the "i should have died several times by now, but somehow here i am" trope IRL? I thought i was an anomaly.
@docdat3468Ай бұрын
More common as many think but we are so numb to it that it mostly doesn't even register to us how many close calls we have especially if we walk away without anything.

way more common than you would think. A lot of people don't realize just how close they were to dying and write it off as an ordinary day.

suprisingly often, as others said, many people don't even realize the amount of them jumping the shark. From personal experience, I at least almost died 3 times. 1st time it was a really bad bronchitis as a child, 2nd time around 14 years ago when I was almost struck by lightning while driving on my scooter, last time was around 3 years ago when I got lyme disease bycause a tick bit me and I didn't notice until it was in the later stages, luckily the lyme didn't cause meningitis, only lyme arthritis (which caused permanent damage to my knee). There are probably so many more moments where I almost died without me even noticing.

You know... I wouldn't think xeno biologists would find it strange to hear about the different sickness and infections that we get to be honest. Even coming from a death world. I mean tbh most intelligent species get weaker and smaller compared to their non-evolved forms. If we evolved from monkeys it's the same case. Monkeys mey be kinda smart but never to our intelligence level, but in exchange their strength is comparable to 4-5 adult males.
