There are four types of alien (A,B,C,D), and each has two head options. All of the tails and arms are interchangeable between any of the miniatures.

I usually go with a blue basecoat, black wash and a silver drybrush for painting.

Got my game last week. It's awesome. Thank you for the comparison with the AvP mini's I'm still looking to pick up that game. The new Wolfenstein board game has my interest as well

Looking forward to seeing how this plays. Did you ever try the old West End Games boardgame back in the day? That was a superb solo boardgame trying to get the marines through the reactor room, and then escape through the airducts. Had an expansion pack too. There was a flash version coded to play online a while back, but time moving on means even flash games are dead now. I'd love to replay that game, but with a nice board and these miniatures instead of the card counters from back in the day.

I played the Leading Edge game, Aliens: This time it's War. I think that's game you mentioned. With cardboard standups. I had the miniatures but sold them a long time ago.

@@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall Ah yes, looking it up on BGG that is the one I meant. No idea why I had West End Games in my head. I played a lot of that when younger, it was a bonus that it was a solo game as finding opponents for anything was hard.

@@TheHongKongHermit BGG has some really high quality fan made map/character card recreations of the old Leading Edge game, you could print the maps out and use these minis.

Instead of using tokens under the figures to tell how many units are in play, would color coding the units work? 1 = black, 2 = bluish, 3 = redish, etc.

I suppose, though you might need more then the base 16 models if you need to make change and don't have enough "1"s left.

Or use dice to mark count. I plan to make counter dial bases. Not a fan of stacking tokens under, seems clunky.

Sorry, but all I could think during this video was... Aliens: "These models are kind of difficult to assemble." Skitarii Rangers: "Hold my beer." But seriously, I really want to give this game a shot and paint up the figures. Just as an aside. Do you think the alien heads would work on Tyranid troops (especially Genestealers)? It looks like they might be a bit too elongated.

probably a little to small on a genestealer body but couldn't hurt to try. Do you remember the original Hormigaunts with alien heads? Loved those old models.

How tall are they...you guessed 1.5 inch...what are they really?

Hudson, who is in an upright pose, is 33mm (not including the base).

Have you seen the 1/144 scale models from Takara? They're pretty good. If you haven't, check them out. They are expensive,but so Worth it.keep up the good work. J

Nice minis but way the Aliens fit to the bases and tails are terrible.

I don't have a problem with the GF9 minis.... I have a huge problem with the combat system of the game. It's sloppy, lazy, and unrealistic game design. Good video for the comparison, thank you!

How is it unrealistic? The recoil mechanic seemed well made.
