2 years on, just to warn people they never made those prebuilt sets lol Even the scenery set still comes on a sprue, however they did slighty remake them so you can clip and push them together now.... but still good to use some glue on them :/.

I've played two games out of the campaign, quite happy with it overall. Although to be honest, I plan to use the minis for Stargrave when it releases.

I feel like with the whole “assembly is hard” complaint, people are looking a this game the wrong way. It seems like more of a miniature war game but in a board game style, than vice versa. Basically, think of it like a miniature war game played on a board, not a board game with buildable pieces. Maybe I’m wrong on this, as I’m not a huge gamer, but so far this looks more like a simplified war game than a complicated board game

It's definitely a board game, mechanically. But the assembly is very much a wargame. Now I'm a lapsed wargamer who knows that the trickier the assembly the better the figures, so I absolutely wanted the nicer figures this game contains. But for someone who just wants to play, who probably would never paint the models, then yeah this is going to be way outside their comfort zone. I spent most of a day just clipping, trimming, and assembling the base set. (Obviously a non-hobbyist would do that quicker as no painting means not caring about flash and mould lines.) But really nice figures, and so I'm as happy as could be with this game as a source of models to paint nicely and play multiple games with.

It’s a grid based miniatures game in my opinion. The type of minis game that is a minis/board game hybrid. Honestly I don’t understand the complaint. I would have been surprised had these detailed minis been pre assembled.

@@spaztekwarrior I think it's due to things like warhammer and such. Space Crusade, the board game version came with everything pretty much built, you just had different weapons to snap on and change and were pretty much the same size.... and that was back in 1992 lol Also, the company making this kind of listened to those people asking forit and the models can basically be clipped and pushed together now as apposed to having to glew some atleast on the expansions ((the 2023 revamp of the core set is still glue together though)).

Nice review. It is not clear to me if this expansion can be played in the base box missions. I mean... Can you use the expansion cards from the begining with the base box. And the small cards of alien reaction (acid etc...) are used only with one person play with the aliens? I mean there is not a IA reaction that introduce new rules. Sorry for my english.

Hello. I wanted to ask, is it possible? Give away weapons and equipment. Do I build randomly? Or Nebo Vasquez must have a smart gun.

Possibly one of the game that went the fastest to "not to be played again" corner. None of us enjoyed it. Pay (also) attention to the negative reviews that start to emerge.

Did you play all three expansions? I heard if you play only the base game it is not so great.

I played the base campaign once, a couple of stand alone missions to learn the rules, then I'm playing the campaign again as presented in this expansion. The base game is fine, less detailed and simpler. If you want more complexity, detail, like experience cards, then the expansion is great.
