Just a heads up, the cats can actually harm you. Their scratch attack has a chance to deal damage to you (decreasing with luck). The cat fight (scuffle) attack is one of the highest dps attacks in the game for a non-evolved weapon and does not harm you. Also, as the cats steal ground items they gain an affect, for instance for every ground chicken they pick up it increases the chance and damage of the cat fight.

The “four seasons” explosions are in Chinese characters! 春夏秋冬 (chun1 xia4 qiu1 dong1), which is spring, summer, autumn, winter. Edit: the evolved form has the character 空 (kong1), meaning emptiness. Using with the character 天 (tian1) makes 天空 (“sky emptiness”), which just means the sky.

OH DUDE, that's so SICK, because in Japanese: 空 or そら or Sora (So-Ra (Soar-Uh)) is Sky as well, but they came to that conclusions through 天 (Ten1) and 空 (Sora1) or 天空 (Tenku1), which also means Sky, But 空 (Sora) is just easier and faster to say, so Japenese people Assume you mean sky when you say Sora, but in writing, you'd want to use Tenku, the entire word.

Hey Tyler, about the corrupted recording. If you're using OBS and have the output set to MP4 I highly recommend changing it to save as MKV and then remuxing the file into an MP4 afterwards. That way even if OBS crashes the recording is still not lost. Anyways great content as always! 👌

when i was trying to do this secret i used the same character but slowed down slightly so i ran at the same speed as my axe projectiles, which meant that more and more projectiles built up and i got a wall of death below me, instantly killing any enemy. it was tons of fun! edit: oh, you did find that strat later in the video

She has the highest base armor in the game for any character. That plus the evolved wand made her my most used character to do the harder achievements. Spider babe is deceptively good.

A couple things. During the first run, Duration was benefitting Tyler in a few ways. First, making the cat fights last longer. Second, making the invincibility last longer. Third, making Four Seasons/Godai Shuffle deal more damage. Four Seasons has a special interaction where amount and duration instead increase damage. Gold Fever regains time for every bit of gold picked up, with larger sources giving more time. Monster gold coin < regular gold coin < gold bag < big gold bag. Additionally, as more and more gold is acquired, the rate at which the bar goes down increases. Also, you only get an unlock at 31 minutes per non-dlc map. IIRC, you also get it even if you trigger true death before 31 minutes.

Protip: opening the map gives you access to the "open grimoare" button, which allows you to view all evolutions you've discovered (or all of their combinations, I'm not entirely sure after the DLC)

Curse is honestly a bonus in most cases, not a negative. More enemies is more XP. Its like trying to make a Pokemon game more difficult by leveling up everything in the game by 3. All that happens is very early its harder, but once you beat a few battles, the bonus XP puts your level on the same +3 curve.

Here there are two difficulty spikes - the start when you didn't level up yet, and the final two minutes where levels are irrelevant (as you're maxed anyway) and unless your loadout works you get overwhelmed. More and stronger enemies is a limiter on what sort of end-run loadouts can get by.

Curse is a negative in the last 2 minutes of the game, when you’re already maxed on xp and the enemies are really strong. Since this is sometimes the hardest part of the game, I’d argue that curse is a net negative in that specific scenario. But you’re right that it is a positive in many other parts.

My game glitched on mobile allowing me to unlock Leda despite being North of the starting point instead of the bottom where it gets dark. I was acquiring the Crimson Shroud and Infinite corridor to get Death and the survive 31 minute achievement to unlock the Out of Bounds arcana and for some reason, the special enemy you need to defeat spawned around the 28 minute mark. Then it happened again even after unlocking the secret character.
