Understand Part 4 - this is the hardest chapter to date, undoubtedly. These rules are insanely challenging to figure out, even with thorough data gathering. And once I learn the rules, the puzzles themselves can be just as challenging. This game really pulls no punches!

I watched part of the first video in this series and immediately decided to get the game. Now, about a year later, I decided to revisit the game with the goal of achieving 100% this time, and also watch your playthroug, directly after finishing the corresponding world. So, on my old file, 4-9 and 4-10 were uncompleted. After the replaying I understood 9, but still had to brute force 10. But NOW, after seeing this video, I FINALLY understood 10!!! Anyways, I really have to thank for introducing me to this game. It currently is one of my favourites. Please do keep up the great work!

My alternate hypothesis for 4-8 is that the two smaller shapes need to be able to be put together to form the shape of the biggest shape without being rotated, i.e. at 20:35 two two 2x1s can't be added into that L shape without being rotated, but when you solve it at 20:58 the single box and the L can add to the Z tetris piece. No way to prove that it wasn't your hypothesis of a 100% square-filled section, but I think mine is more likely, idk.

For 4-7 your thinking was originally that "they add up to 4", but then later became "if you smush them together it becomes a square". When i saw the level that added to 9, i came up with a theory more similar to your first one: they add up to a square (i.e. the sqrt is an integer, so 2^2 = 4, 3^2 = 9). In the last level, i think you could probably have done it any shape, and if you really wanted to, maybe even isolated each square to make a 2x2

4:4 I think, you made more path than necessary 4-4-7: I think, a straight vertical center-line will also do the trick. It splits the board into 2 vertical 2x5 rectangles, where both have each shape. not that sure (does it accept 180° rotated shapes): 4-4-8 I think it can be also solved with a pretty straight vertical path, just with 2 bends in the very center (around the right square-icon), that create a single horizontal unit inbetween. 4-4-9 Just start at the left edge at the 4. row and go straight right until passed between the squares, than 2 cells up to reach row 2, pass between the circles and go all the way to the right straight

This is not correct, though most of the time that rule is sufficient. The actual rule is "two pieces fit together to form a third". You can test on 4-8-7 by separating it into a 1x1 in the tip left, a 3x1 in the top right and a 5x2 L in the bottom right. This first together to form a 5x2 rectangle, but the two smaller pieces do not form the larger and so it fails the third rule.

SPOILERS FOR 4-9 AND 4-10 In 4-9, the final rule is that the area you make that's not part of the line must be possible to split into two identical pieces In 4-10 it's the same except one of the identical pieces must be rotated (rotating a rectangle 180 degrees to get the exact same rectangle is fine)

how do I beat 4-9-10 and 4-9-11, I have been trying for hours

that doesn't make sense because 4-9-8 and 4-9-9 both have a random single square and it still works, but it doesn't work on 4-9-10

I went back and played the level again and I see my comment was a little misleading. To be totally clear, the 4 rules for 4-9 are 1. The line contains every circle 2. The line contains no squares 3. All the squares lie in a single region bounded by the line 4. The region containing the squares can be split into two identical pieces So the single cut off tiles don't make a difference, as they aren't part of the region containing the squares.

I feel obligated to point out that 4-8 has nothing to do with addition, but rather: * No touch square * 3 seperate sections * sections combine to any (non-square) rectangle

I understood 4-7's rule instantly but would've never guessed 4-8.

I think 4-10 was that the number of empty spaces needed to be divisible by whatever number of squares

i think the 4-7 puzzle answer was that the empty spaces had to add up to a perfect square, while avoiding the squares

I think the problem where he had to create squares with two sections was actually just prime numbers, and he found a work around lol
