Aliexpress Grand Auditorium Kit Build - Part 2: Building the Structure

Hi guys, welcome to a new video series where I build a cheap grand auditorium kit I bought off Aliexpress. The kit itself only cost me about $80 USD including shipping. There weren’t any reviews or videos made on this kit so I decided to give it a shot. I’ve built a StewMac Triple 0 kit about 3 years ago, and the skills are transferrable. I just bought the same kit. I've never built a guitar! I'm re-watching this series again. Did you use the exact size of the precut top to trace the styrofoam insert? I don't understand why the mortis and tenon joint was created. Thanks again for your inspiration. I am already feeling some fear about various parts of this build. You've done so much to make this accessible. I will be re-watching with pen in hand to note each tool you are using.

The pre cut top is slightly oversized. I just looked for a good front facing picture of a Taylor grand auditorium, made it to scale and traced it out on the Styrofoam. I think the shape may have differed very slightly from my 814ce. Good luck!

Hi Sandy,how did your guitar turn out? I need to cut down my sides and I don't have a template.

@@tomalexiou9573 I broke the sides, they completely spit during the first glue up and I didn't complete it.

Hi Luigi, no I couldn't find any online. This is purely based on trial and error, but I referenced the stewmac kit instructions for some parts.
