I don’t like the fact that power shovel usually throw snow to the front which makes them unsuitable to use them for clearing sidewalk as it would throw all the snow to the neighbours. Is this unit capable of throwing the snow to the sides?

I completely understand your concern. This unit has the ability to throw the snow to the front, to the left, or to the right. However… the angle that it can throw the snow at when angled to the sides is compromised by the fact that it doesn’t have any form of snow shoot sticking out the top (like, for example, a Toro corded electric snow thrower). Thus, the side angle is more subtle than what you can achieve with a shoot. Ergo, as I approach my garage, you may notice that I have to manually alter the angle of the snow thrower so that I don’t just shoot the snow right into my garage. On the upside, given the rather subtle side angle that it throws the snow, I don’t find that I shoot snow over to my neighbour’s driveway.
