It's called the rolling shutter effect, jellying is an amateur term, and it will not be solved with 30fps higher because the rpm is still to high for a normal gopro CMOS sensor to pick up in each individual scan. Also this is a nice example of aliasing, and resonance at different rpms!

Agreed! Awesome gear + Awesome piloting = awesome video! Thanks for sharing! I also like that you included the rotor assembly as I also find the swashplate mechanics very interesting. Also very cool hearing it spool up.

So what you are saying is if I would add 30fps to my setting's this will sop the rolling shutter effect? like the new GOPRO black line has higher system setting that would get this out at 1080 at 60fps.?

Looks like I am a bit from the future to this video, wish our days dji mavic pilots knew how hard it is to fly one of those lol, I can fly fpv drone in simulators but collective pitch helis (single rotors in general) are like another dimension as they wobble a lot and pitch to random directions constantly due to tortion forces, as far as I know from sims ofc lol. But yea it is amazing how people can do all the 3D aerobatics with those.

@human0ide also the trex 700 would handle very well with a dslr camera on it. if you are going for areial photo go with a bergen rc heli. they are dam expensive but that are either gas, turbine, or electric. go with the ndustrial twin they can lift 20 pounds for half and hour or better.
@frederickraft397311 жыл бұрын

@scubaemt2511 жыл бұрын
What a beauty
@Hpj00713 жыл бұрын
@human0ide if you have absolutly no experience i would go with a eflite blade series helicopter first. you could start on the blade 450 heli's but you must take a long time to learn properly. from there go to a align trex 550e flybarless heli. from there you can try to make the jump to the 700 but most people go to the 600 then to the 700. if you are just starting out you should go with electric heli's. then go to a local flying field if they have fuel heli's and ask them how to set up.

Your jellyfish effect is most likely due to an unbalanced helo. Blades most likely inducing motion into the frame. If you don't correct it you will basically shake the bird apart, I would expect to see your prop or an attachment point fail while in flight......not pretty. If you look closely there is some jelly effect in this video mainly happens during high G maneuvers. BTW ALL CMOS sensor cameras without shutters will have some jelly effect due to the line scanning used for the image capture.

***** the multicopters are just more stable and require less practice to fly them thats why so many people use them and they have been built to be stable a tradional heli can be used as differently as the skill level of the pilot increases
