@@karlarsch1627 to me it seems, Alireza made a mistake in the opening, so that Timur get quite early a promising position. Then he played very accurately, so Alireza seemed not been gotten much chances to strike back. Safe conversion in the endgame. All in one, very instructive game.👍 (I have ELO 2100 :))

Wow.A very well played game by GM Timur. Usually the lower rated player ,will blunder in the end or will be out play by the higher rated player.GM Gareyev played a fantastic game,he matched the tactical prowess of Alireza. It's nice to see,how he use his powerfull king in the endgame. Maybe it could be candidate, for the best game of the year.

No. D6 pawn is a poisoned chalice. After NC4, A6 NBXD6,B5,AXB,AXB,NXC8,BXC4.....the Knight is stranded on C8 and can't back out. Therefore Ali would have lost a piece.

@@smellyracoon1018 I get the point. You will have to live with the king in the center after 1...g5 2.Bg3 g4 3.Be2 Nxg2+ 4.Kf1. Practically in a blitz game maybe not too easy to convert. But I think White has straightforward play here. Understandable that Firo didn't go for it.

EN: chess is taking a twist that I don't like: we look at the player on the right, the hairstyle he wears is inappropriate for a serious game like chess, in these levels, he is not an "unclassified", but a great master, and as such he must present himself with a well-trimmed beard and more dignified hair. We try to give some rules of behavior in this game, netflix fiction has already ruined this game, at least among great masters, be dignified!
