Alyssa; I subscribed to your channel a while back, and I have a couple of things I want you to know. First of all, there is nothing wrong with how your voice sounds. In fact, I think it's really cute. Secondly, I have been sewing since I was 7 years old and now I am 71, and you are the first person I have listened to that makes it easy to draft my own patterns!! I have done several, and I made a few up yesterday, and they fit just PERFECT!!! So, don't let anyone tell you there is anything weird about your voice, because there isn't. Also, you have a great command of the English language! Sincerely,. Kathy Boles.

Great top! Drafted mine and sewed it up quickly! The only recommendation I have is for anyone with a larger bust area C cup and higher might wanna add 1/2-1” on the front top(and back) so that there is more fabric to go over the bust. Depending on the fabric you use if it’s a stiffer fabric you will definitely need more fabric in the bust area. I am a C cup and so On my second top I did have to add an inch because it was pulling up in the arm whole at the bust. But all in all this was super easy, fun and quick to sew up! On to the next two! 🥰🤩Thanks Alisa!

I vary between a DD and E cup, so I was wondering about this. I was going to take my measurements and the one from the pattern, then add what extra I needed. If it's a pattern you're going to make regularly, it's worth making one out of a muslin first but instead of machine sewing it, either use long tacking stitches that you can easily remove to use it as your pattern, or use long stitches that you can easily remove later, and then you have the perfect pattern for your measurements. Thanks for the tip.

So lovely to see the Pillowcase dress as a good tutorial. A few yrs ago a local church ran a sewing Bee for these dresses, we took our sewing machines and had such fun that day. Once we got the hang of them we made LOADS of dresses to go out to the Phillipines. Then I had a chance meeting with a fellow sewer who, along with others, was preparing to make their annual visit to a church in Africa. I think it was Uganda , a little village where they put all their different skills into action. I made a total of 56 pillowcase dresses and loved doing each and every one of them. I made some smaller sizes but I improvised the pattern to fit older girls. I put pockets and some pretty embellishments so that they would look bright and cheerful. Friends and family contributed some shorts and Tees for boys , the lady I met was, like myself, a retired nurse and that particular year she was going to work with a local doctor and nurses and go out into villages to examine children and find any eye problems. I haven’t made any of these dresses for ages…… you’ve inspired me to get going again😘.

I finally just watched it and I realised that the fabric I bought today would be amazing as a kimono cardigan cover up thing. It's a gorgeous border print, drapey light weight cotton that would really look fantastic to emphasize the cuffs and collar and hem. Thank you for reminding me about the kimono video!❤

I've now learnt to make a couple of the folders purely for easy sewing ideas, and another for sewing tip and tricks add videos that I see but am involved with something else at the time. I then have it saved where I can easily find it when wanting ideas, but I go back to my Saved 'To Watch' folder on a regular basis and then delete them from that folder when I've watched it, but knowing I still have the other one to refer to when I'm ready to sew. I also do this with audio books, decorating ideas, etc that I see and will want to refer to again later on.

I really love the way you make up your patterns , so simplified and easy to follow. I have 1 question for you today if you don't mind . As I'm quite heavy on top I have an H cup in fact. Would this still work for me as there is no bust dart? Thank you in advance and good day.
