Allison Arngrim was very close to Steve Tracy who played her husband Percival and she cared for him as he battled AIDS. She volunteers for an AIDS program which teaches people to learn about the disease and supplied food to the sick. She was devastated when he passed.

Sadly, a lot of Nellie was channelled from the abuse she suffered by her brother. I've read Confessions of a Prairie Bitch but I need to buy it!!! Living in 1874 conditions ...P.U. I guess the cast became nose-blind.

I recently just watched Little House on the Praire. Binge watching all the episodes and then all behind the scenes etc. So sad it's over. The wholesome viewing was so good. Now struggling to find anything that comes close. Trying the Walton's but nothing competes with little house. Any suggestions?

Completely different from the character she played. As Laurence Olivia would say that’s called acting. What a wonderful personality. I understand now why their faces were so serious in the 1800s pictures. Who could smile with all those odors going around.

Like the way he says..."you were relentlessly bitchy you weren't attractive or anything and that wig was horrible"...But she was more than half the attraction of that series, because if she wasn't in it that series wouldn't have gotten half the ratings or lasted half as long as it did because she was as funny as she was nasty, I mean the lady is very much a comedian...Oh as I mentioned the way he said "You weren't attractive", well that's were I have a difference in opinion, I thought she was a very pretty girl, in fact the prettiest girl in the whole show. However a very talented actress.

Well I was thinking more what it was really like during the 1800's; ot the Hollywood depiction. I was actually thinking of the way people smelled. I always get a kick out of films like THE HARVEY GIRLS where, even though the streets are mud, the dress are immaculate. I just read a book, PERILS OF THE EARTH ---- amazing about that time. The author is Mary Mann Hamilton........her memoir.

I wonder, if she could choose how to live things over again, would she accept the role of such a despised character? She did it so well that maybe her eventual typecasting was even more detrimental to her career than playing angelic roles was for her compatriots.
@auntiechercher42664 жыл бұрын
Alison did a good job playing Nellie . . . and despite the nature of the character she was likable as the character and the actress.
@ClarenceFisher4 жыл бұрын
@@auntiechercher4266 I've always believed she could have had a truly great career if not for the stupid typecasting. It stopped Burt Ward from getting the lead for "The Graduate" and Nancy McKeon from playing "Monica" on Friends. When will studio executives finally get it through their thick, greedy heads that potential audiences might just have an open mind and accept and embrace their beloved television icons in other roles later on?
