Your videos are always so inspiring yet practical. This particular one; describing style using a 3 word method -practical, inspirational and emotional resonated with me. I have tried other 3 word methods but didn't seem to get me to the best description for me. My words are casual, elegant and easy.

I chose my three words without knowing the meanings Allison attaches to them, i.e., the first word is the practical one, etc. I can’t really think of a practical word, an aspirational word, etc., so I just stuck with the three words I had chosen already. I really need four words, but in general, this idea works well for me. I don’t have any activity-related considerations except for wanting only comfortable clothes and footwear, and that I can only wear natural fibers. I don’t have children or pets (at this time, but I’m hoping to get a pair of kitties soon), I don’t garden or even cook or clean much. I spend most of my time at home now that I’m retired, reading and studying, so I can wear whatever I love. I’m not sure practical considerations really describe a style, per se, but of course they are important. My three words are: classic/tailored, elegant and feminine (I know, it’s really four words, but I also wanted to add “soft fabrics”). I don’t think “casual” should use up one of the three words, it doesn’t realky describe a style and is almost a given these days. Except perhaps for me, I wear mostly dresses and skirt outfits for comfort, but, oddly, even a denim skirt and t-shirt is considered “dressed up” these days. I really welcome the return or more thoughtful, intentional and elegant dressing that we’ve been seeing in 2024. I never wear anything uncomfortable, but that doesn’t have to mean thin, show-everything leggings or baggy sweatsuits, either.

I think we have a similar style and I'm also a mum of girls, but mine are a bit older. I have the same thing about not feeling too mature or 'square' or frumpy. I am a rock chick but don't really like a too edgy style (eg studs/mesh etc). My three words are Simple, Put-together and Funky.

Also to add the tip of if the balance is off or you're missing a word, you can feel like you're wearing fancy dress or a costume, which is a sure fire sign you don't feel like yourself!

It's a long time now,than i'm trying to name my style and i can't. This video was so helpful.That's why i love your channel, because you give answers..I'm casual and modern for sure, but after that i don't know. i'm somewhere between classic and feminin or boho. I have an inverted triangle shape of body, that's why i try to put small feminin or boho pieces to have a ballance. So elevate is my 3rd word you think?
