Earl Scheib, Inc. owns a national chain of automobile painting and body repair shops. Operating under the New Earl Scheib Paint & Body Shop name, the California-based chain consists of more than 175 stores in about 150 U.S. cities. Though the stores are primarily known for economically priced, production auto painting services, body and fender repair services are also offered. Earl Scheib manufactures its own paint at a company-owned facility in Missouri. The company established a fleet sales division in 1998. The Earl Scheib brand became well known largely through founder Earl Scheib, a pioneer of advertising.
Beginning in July 2010, the company closed certain locations and franchised off the remaining locations to shop managers, giving them the opportunity to become small business owners. Specifically, the company offered them the rights to purchase all the equipment and fixtures in their shops and to use the Earl Scheib name for their own business. Many managers took advantage and agreed to the terms, resulting in today's independent Earl Scheib paint centers. These modern Earl Scheib centers now offer paint jobs and most of today's Scheib shops also offer custom painting, collision repair, and pinstriping. Earl Scheib the company is no more, but the name still lives on independently.

Years ago I had my car painted by an Earl Scheib shop. I was shocked to see that, in addition to the car's body parts, they also painted most of the chrome, a good portion of the windows, and quite a bit of the 4 tires! At no extra charge, of course!

My dad told me in those early hot Rod days those Earl Sheib guys were puking out crappy paint jobs during the day we’re putting out hot Rod paint jobs at night that were incredible. They shot enamel allday they had to get good at it. Given the right time and material.

In 71 I had bought a 66 mustang. I lived in Brooklyn and they had an Earl Scheib on Bushwick ave.I took it down in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon. when i got it back the paint was sticky and i noticed some flying bugs were stuck on the fenders. i didn't care i only paid i think $39. I was teased that i couldn't go over 40mph or it would peel the paint I didn't care i was king of the road with my 1st car at 17yrs.old.

$29.95…..You were robbed. My Dad had our 55 Ford Wagon painted White by Earl Schieb in San Diego in 1959 for $19.99! It wasn’t perfect, but a big improvement over the old faded Maroon color. 👍👍😂😎🇺🇸

My dad had our 1962 Rambler in 1974...he had a choice of two colors for the base price...either butterscotch or park bench green...he chose the green. It wasn't great but looked better than it did before it was painted
