Turning our front garden from a 0 to a 10!!

I worked as a landscaper for 14 years and still do it here and there. For your first time y’all did great.!! I love your content and been following for a while now. Love you guys Next time though… make sure you flip your soil over and not just cut the weeds. The weeds can and will poke through the liner one day and all hell will break loose on that garden. Flipping your soil can help you pull the weeds out from the root and flipping will help burry and kill them. Then you throw your liner on.youll have a better view on the garden space. Not only that but having the liner down before the plants helps you see the plants better on the positions before going in… one last thing… if you have a recent amount of gravel on the garden, it’ll only help you more. You lose when you go light on gravel. Trust me. The more you use, the better chance you have of the gravel staying in place as well.

The children are so loving because they get attention and love often. So sweet of Aurora coming up to dad and saying “Dad,I love you” is warming memories for Dad. Little Myia ‘s sweet grin would make anyone’s day be better. You all have a wonderful family . Make sure you fertilize, this helps tremendously. Good luck on the project. I always used the liners that has the tiny holes in them all over giving the ground air I assume. The “1,2,3,yeah that’s what I thought” from Dad shows they know who is in charge. ‘Tough love’ but parents have to correct. Great job on the garden. Landscaping is fun. Black rocks makes the garden items show up more

Love it! And I’m so happy you guys did rock! Mulch is a beast, and has to be replaced almost yearly. To keep it looking good. And if you ever want to remove it it’s a pain. And rock just looks so good up against rock houses (IMO) we just bought our big ole’ brick house and I can’t wait til it cools down so we can do our garden beds!

Omg that front garden it fabulous really beautiful glad you went with the stones as mulch can combust near a home in hot weather. Stephen you did a great job lifting all that stone and trees alix you have a great eye for planning you both work so well together some girls would leave hubby to it but not alix. The Japanese Maple is a stunning tree..my fav! It's a large tree so keep that in mind when planting. Keep it a good distance away from the house as roots can destroy a property. Mine is doing really well. Enjoy!

Japanese maples are beautiful once they have been in the ground a few years and have done some growing and filling out. They are expensive though. My mom loves them and they are a part of her landscaping at her house. They sold their house in town and of course no longer had them. They moved to their house in the country and planted 3 more for their landscaping out there because they are so pretty.

It was a kick for this Horticulturalist watching y’all make your beautiful Garden! It truly turned out great!!! The only thing I will say is that gravel is never the thing I use as mulch because if you change your mind, gravel is a pain in the a$$, whereas bark mulch contributes nutrients to the soil. Does the weed block have holes for keeping the soil from drying out? Can’t wait to see the other Garden bed!

Do rock ..mulch sucks. It fades and has to be replaced more often. Beautiful landscaping btw. I was reading the comments to see if Ducky’s wings were normal. He looks weird but I’ve never really been around ducks either ❤❤😂😂🎉🎉

Mulch decomposes, weeds grow in it, & then you have to take it all out, & redo it. Sometimes, it'll last a few years if you spray it with lots of chemicals & pull a lot of weeds.
