Like anything you have to keep up with it. Kids can actually learn a lot. I just started learning the dulcimer last year and I thought I was doing pretty good until I heard the kids that started learning around the same time as me. Lol. It’s amazing but kids have an ability to learn so much faster. That stage of life when the brain is growing and developing. The kids hadn’t even practiced as much but can still play better and pick it up so quickly. Likewise I am doing better than the older people, even though they’ve played for years and I’ve only played on and off for a few months. Learning when you’re young is best. It’s really cool when a kid actually does take some time to focus on something. They really can achieve a lot.
