I hear various blames, however Capitalist Corporations understand well the "Economics of scarcity" and will use this tool to get hundreds of times the return on their investment, with less product, less workers less expense..etc. If the electric is rationed, people will pay everything for electricity, medicine, event though the shortages are fabricated to game prices.

Your statement of Capitalist Corporations understand well the "Economics of scarcity" does not apply in Venezuela as all production and distribution of food, oil, consumer goods, etc is controlled by their socialistic government. The price of oil which was set by OPEC was the downfall of the socialistic government spending Sorry no money no goods, they were thumbing their noses at the West when was over $100 a barrel, but Chavez failed to diversify their economy and build lasting prosperity. Their government wanted control, well the have had it for 13 years, now with all the mismanagement going on they are going to have to deal with it.

I have spent a lot of time in Venezuela, in the 90's and early 2000's. It seem like the people don't Make anything anymore, or produce any Natural resource's But Oil? and all they have done is take money out and have not Maintained any of the oil infrastructures. I am so sad for the people I remember How Happy they were before Chavez.

2 years later - and all hope has died. ( Except for the true believers. ) People too hungry now - to protest. Remember - they all voted for Hugo's " free everything ", same as Bernie Sanders in USA! People who do that - will soon find out - that they are no longer free! ! You teach a bitter lesson here - that the USA will not learn.

While most of what I can learn is from documentaries and news features, it seems to be a popular opinion there that the worst day now (post-Chavez) is better than the best day in pre-Chavez Venezuela...... Ross Kemp did a pretty fantastic episode on present-day Venezuela. One of the most beautiful countries on Earth, allegedly bursting at the seams with valuable natural resources (national income thereof), and its people falling dead while standing on the very $mega-billions real estate that will be their grave. How is it those countries have such a history of tyrannical leaders, and will for the remaining history of humankind? How can a country floating on high-grade oils and mineral riches STILL be using coat-hanger taps off electric mains, and need to travel miles down the side of a mountain to get a bucket of water for day's use, and oh yeh..... how 'bout that sewage disposal? Could it be the authorities exercising their rights to ignorance...? "Hmmmm...... I'm looking out the window..... how about THAT window...? Lemme look......nope, STILL can't see it from here!!!" It is nearly impossible for those not IN it to imagine how hideous it is from day to day ..... if you don't like the way things are done by those in power, you better keep it to yourself. What a nightmare. Bad enough already and you'll get whacked for disdain. What's going on there seems an echo to prior such events in that region as well as in other places such as Ukraine, Burma, Former Yugoslavia and neighboring regions, Libya, etc. Just how empty is their national budget.... or is it that difficult to move funds from one bucket to another? We got the money to fuel the president's jet every day but emergency action for basic food and medicine isn't even in the budget.

Venezuela is a failed state which mean the current government has failed! Why not let the opposition formed a new government? After all, Venezuela under Maduro has collapsed economically and socially...

As with those in power it is not always easy to remove them from power. As things gets worse and worse Maduro will eventually go. It is going to be nasty and it is going to be ugly.

For those of you that are too dam stupid to want a wall, these people are responsible for the government they have now. It did not just fall from the sky, they voted the socialism in, because they were getting FREE STUFF just like the lazy bastards here do when the demoncrats hand out freebies. SOCIALISM DOES NOT WORK. It has been tried again and again and always ends up in horrendous conditions like Venezuela and a dictatorship. So if you MORONS don't what a wall these people will help you be Venezuela and you will deserve it. Remember them waving their flags on the way here.

if anyone point out. That the people in colour support Chavez and the more lighter people support the movement. Can this story also be about poor vs rich?

Actually, the militars you're seeing are ignorants (poor people) that the government literally subsidized money and training for them to work for them as a protection (dictatorship). It's visible in their faces.

Nicolás Maduro, should not give in to the opposition.
@Josetismo

Of course not. But submitting himself to a constitutionally sanctioned recall referendum is not giving in to the opposition. After all, wasn't Chavez the architect of the constitution? This "populist revolution" ultimately depended on the charisma of Chavez, not Maduro, populist regimen rarely survive after the disappearance of their leader, and clearly Maduro is not a good leader and chavista should recognize that, there are many other to choose from, loyalty to Chavez, or his party, does not entailed loyalty to Maduro. This "opposition" is barely holding itself together by a thread, if they take power, they will likely start stabbing themselves in the back, actually, they already are doing that.
