I owned the original one (with the quiet upgrade) for three years, as well as the Dosetronic and Mastertronic. My mian gripes with it were the intermitente wifi connection (and the fact that you were forced to have a dedicated 2,4gHz signal), the high noise and the SD cards occasionally crapping out (happened once in 3 years). Combined with the MT it just became too much maitenance: calibrate probe, calibrate pumps, replace tubbing, replace vials, replace vial caps, replace syringe, calibrate syringe, oil the mechanism…. The very BEST thing about Focustronic is Reddie (Andrew) Redwood. He is A LEGEND!

Same…. I used my Alkatronic for only one year and it dropped the wifi and would not reconnect. They told me to buy a travel router to get it to connect. It wouldn't connect. They gave me the same troubleshooting solutions for a year and I gave up on it. Great machine if they would just fix the wifi issue. If not, its just an expensive paper weight.

Is the Pro version officially released for USA market? I can not find a vendor in the USA who is selling the pro version.

yes, is actually faster than the original but that purely depends on your dkh level. higher it is the longer it needs for the titration.

Are the really calling it pro because they added a temperature probe? Really?

Pretty sure it’s more that you can schedule the test tiles for ph/alk/temp and use on fresh water and horticulture as well. Lots more uses outside of just reef tanks. Plus some build improvements

adding to what ReedDudes have said, there is also voice command, control Powertronic (smart wifi sockets) with temp, ph or dkh results, quiet DC pumps, improved electronics, independent ph tests.

@@focustronic831 Does the wifi still drop and wont reconnect like the normal Alkatronic? Do you still have to buy a travel wifi router to try and get it to connect and stay connected?
