It seems to me like there were times where the emperor lost willingly to his sons because he knew exactly how to handle each one to get on their best side. Thus if it required loosing that's what he would do, his goal was to win them over, not to feed his own ego.

Actually interesting fact about the void dragon, I did the math and he was less than 5,000 years old when he faced it, and it got me thinking he probably never faced anything that really challenged him like that which is why he struggled against it, but still f****** won

Nice video but i think there was one more major fight of Emperor against beast ork. Also Horus was trying help Emperor too in that fight. Emperor almost got whooped but last moment used warp sorcery to buff himself and win.

There a theories that the emperor was created as a tool / fallback during the golden age of technology. This mirrors how the Emperor created the Primarchs, If this is true his past would have been fabricated. I've also seen theories that the old ones set the events in motion that would lead to the creation of the Emperor.

He's maintaining the webway. Without it, humanity would have no way to traverse the warp, and all planets in the imperium would be trapped, alone in their own star systems. Humanity would be defensless against anything that had more power than whatever they had in their own system.

The reason why he can't just respawn is obviously unknown, like most things in the setting. However there are many theories. I would suggest to read the wiki first for basic information after which research about this topic on reddit/Discord. (Imo reddit is much better) The theory which i prefer the most is also the most popular and simplest. it is that the burden of the golden throne is killing emps at the same rate he is regenerating. I am not really into the theory crafting side of the lore (😅) and haven't spend any time researching this topic.
