That was the greatest single season by a defensive player I’ve ever seen. 2012 JJ Watt was living in backfields, swatting down passes and getting sack after sack on every QB.

Probably more than that. In those 2 years he was injured he would have had at least 30 sacks, considering his numbers in 2015 and 2018, and then at least 3/4 more sacks last year. That would put him at around 135, which is incredible since he’s only 31

He is definitely going to the Hall of Fame. He is one of 3 players in NFL history to win 3 DPOYs in their career, the other 2 being Lawrence Taylor and Aaron Donald. If JJ hadn't gotten injured all those times, he probably would have around 130 sacks by now. He is 100% going to the Hall, no doubt about it

When he was drafted I remember hearing nothing but Boos from Houston fans over picking JJ. Kids a beast and he definitely deserves a shot at a ring. Him and Watson especially, but they would need to be traded for a bag of corn for that to happen, since Houston is not a good team and won't be for awhile.

I truly believe injuries robbed him of the opportunity to make his case as not just the greatest defensive player ever but the greatest football player ever regardless of position. Real shame we didn’t get to see what he could have done with a big chunk of his prime spent on the sidelines. It’s not over for him yet though. As far as edge rushers go he’s still only behind Myles Garrett and possibly Khalil Mack when healthy in my opinion.
