I feel like the blessing shrines were ranked unfairly. Some of the blessings had really interesting quests to get to them, like the shrine atop Mount Lanayru, which was my absolute favorite shrine out of all of them. However, the rest of the review was on point and the time and effort that went into this video really payed off. Good job!

Blessing shrines are hard to get to because there is a challenge behind them to get access and some are creative (oppening a door with a snowball, the island one which is hard but unique, the dragon that you have to purify, and some clever puzzles that you have to use cool mechanics or minigames)

With most of the blessing shrines, the overworld portion is the whole challenge. For example, Eventide island is a freebie shrine because the island challenge to open up the shrine is so much work. Those overworld quests really need to be considered for a meaningful ranking. I would put Eventide Island in my top 3 of the shrines I've solved so far. Other than that, excellent job with this ranking.

Since the overworld quests are so different from the puzzle shrines themselves (and there were some overworld quests that *led* to some puzzle shrines), I didn't really see a good way to put them both in one singular ranking. Glad you enjoyed it tho!

19:41 Fun fact about the extra chest puzzle for this shrine: The correct number of times to hit the ball from the starting location is 6.5. Not 6, not 7, 6.5! You hit it 6 times with any two-handed weapon (the sledgehammers) and then once with any one-handed weapon. Why they decided to make it such a weirdly specific amount and not make it about timing or precision, I have no idea.

Blue Fire was my favorite shrine, I thought everyone else thought that too. It made me get too excited for every shrine, and get disappointed by their short length. Also I hate the Trial of Strength because I couldn’t figure out the motion controls section.

I like the blue flame one. It's really original even if it's really long. And how to access it is so FUN. (Roller coasterrrr) i also loved the test of strenght +. Got me laughing and surprised. I kinda liked the worst shrine. When i figured out i was like.. AH we need to use the decorations on the wall.. I didn't expected that. And you need to that a second time for the chest. For the counting ball shrine.. yes it's counting + motion control but the way to access the chest is creative as you need to figure out that you can open the box with magnesis to free the ball and grab the metal ones.

I definitely agree with your top 7. The longest ones are the best because they are the closest to a traditional Zelda dungeon (though still not really). But the constellation shrine last place? come on. That's such a cool puzzle.

when looking at a zelda dungeon in the more entries, i noticed that the chunks could have been broken up intro shrines instead because when completed you never have to return to those locations outside of optional content. i call this the dodongo's cavern dungeon trapping where i argue it would be better if divided like skull woods (just not albw style).

Agree with everything you said. Trust me, I was frustrated with Fateful Stars at first or whatever it’s called. I didn’t get it for a long time, but eventfully it clicked for me, and it was so satisfying solving it. Just like other Zelda puzzles through the years. Agree with the OP that the closer a shrine is to a traditional Zelda dungeon, the better it tends to be.

@@chambeet the worst part about some of the shrines is how they are just one off micro challenges. i like the concept overall because it is able to isolate thematic puzzles that can build off one another while dungeons can focus more on navigation. that is not to say they cannot have single room puzzles, but the problem zelda dungeons had in recent years was this common structure where you tackle one chunk, unlock a shortcut in the central room, access the next chunk where you may or may not get the item, and then the final chunk which has the boss key. it makes the dungeon disjointed and more through the motions where this structure might as well just be divided and that is where shrines come in.

I hate having to go through cold weather just to get to a shrine. Especially if it has water that can kill you by freezing you (resulting in the GAME OVER text to be light blue instead of my favorite color) almost instantly.

Even though most of the combat trials get repetitive, I actually liked the Major Test of Strength ones since those ones finally have variety like the pullable metal blocks around the battlefield or the shallow water that can be a shield using Cryonis. I'd have had those much higher but any test of strength is better than Tempered Power anyway, that one was just frustrating. Myahm Agana should easily be higher too.

I like the rest of strength shrines because it gives you a much harder challenge then the over world encounters, finding a major test of strength early game also gives you something to come back to once you get stronger

@@lama99654 All you need to beat them is a thunder weapon and some chu chu gel. Swing the Great thundreblade then drop it during the middle of the swing. It is now charged, and if you throw gel onto it, it will creat a shock trap.

I appreciate your work and video however I think the blessing shrines were a bit shafted in your list Imo yes they only gave you items but the puzzles were getting the shrines themselves and a lot of these were pretty ingenious, and some admittedly were brain dead (looking at you skull eye island shrine) so I think they should have gotten more appreciation either way nice work

1:12:31 The windmills puzzle was actually one of the easiest in my opinion. From the starting platform, there’s one column that doesn’t have any powered fans. Simply point all the fans from the other columns toward the column without, then there’s 2 redundant fans you just need to rotate to spin the last 2 turbines.

I think path of hidden winds is a lot worse because you have no indicator that there is a hidden hole in the wall at the last puzzle. I tried creating my own updraft over the updraft but it didn't work. I ended up watching a walkthrough to figure what I was meant to do.

I agreed so much until you put the worst shrine in the entire game in first, I legitemately thought it was going to be last. It took me so long to complete that shrine that i was histerically laugh-crying. Believe me, it's definately memorable, but not in a good way. No joke the only expectations I came into this video with were "Wind guide will be last or close to last, and "trial of power" will be first or close to first because I absolutely love that shrine. I always ask my friends and family if I can complete theirs for them, or at least be present when they are completing because I love "trial of power." I can't fathom putting wind guide in first, you must have just done better at the puzzle than me. All jokes aside though, thank you for putting so much time and effort into this video and by using your amazing personality to captivate the audience through the entire thing never causing boredom and by making this video quite enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your opinion and other than the wind guide thing, I would have to agree with everything you said.

In my experience I personally never had problem with any of the motion controls and the apparatus shrines in this game, or problems with the motion controls in Skyward Sword. I feel like when people complain about them, it is because they are trying to get the motion controls to do what they want by using them how they think they should be used, rather than understand how the motion controls perceive what you are doing, and then by using that knowledge, getting the motion controls to do what you want them to do. Absolutely agree with the constellation shrine though, it was SO unclear that even after watching videos explaining it I didn't get it for ages.

Although...it could've created one of the worst Nintendo level ever. A MOTION CONTROL DUNGEON! Combining all the motion control shrines into one of the longest dungeons in Zelda history. Nintendo will then have a charity to raise money to replace all the broken Switch parts and trust me, there will be a lot.

Am I the only one that likes motion controls lol. I don't know if it's because I played on the Wii-U or if it's just me but I liked all the motion control shrines. I was surprised to hear that your number two - Trial of Power- is so popular. For me it was fine but probably only just makes my top 10. My fave is likely between the hamster wheel one but the blue flame one. There were a handful that felt like actual Zelda dungeon type puzzles, sadly lacking in this game. And I liked the Fateful Stars one. The counting wasn't the point. Solving the puzzle was. I guess it can maybe just depend on your mindset going into it but I remember staring at the constellations for a few minutes and when it clicked I was quite chuffed. One of the better feelings I got from a shrine. Definitely my least favourite is the golf one and I'm glad to see that it's fairly unanimous. It's great so see a list put together like this though. Thanks. I enjoyed watching.

Red giveaway is the easiest shrine to cheese ever, just throw the small ball into the pocket and before it rolls into the trigger hole use stasis, run up to the stairs and get onto the rising platform before the stasis runs out, I didn't even know that magnesis was necessary in that shrine.
