I originally posted this video with Buck Martinez calling the 2015 clinch, but after I came across Jerry Howarth's call on KZbin, I had to re-post this.
1985 called by Tom Cheek, 1989 called by Tom Cheek, 1991 called by Jim Hughson, 1992 called by Jim Hughson (Mel Allen voiceover), 1993 called by Jim Hughson, and 2015 called by Jerry Howarth.

I didn't know Jim Hughson called Jays games back in the early '90s.

Actually, Hughson (also?) called the (relatively) handful of games CBC got, and did so through most of the 90s. He was still calling games in the Delgado era. It wasn't until Rogers bought the team and put all the games on Sportsnet that he stopped.

Leafsdude Actually, Brian Williams called Jays games on CBC in the early to mid 90's alongside Tommy Hutton.

For a while, him and Buck Martinez were the commentators for EA Sports Triple Play franchise (when they could still do it). As per what EA usually do with most things, they ruined a good thing there.

I was 10 years old and in the stands for the first one in 1985. Watching George Bell make that catch and drop to his knees was amazing!!

i was 18 in the North Grandstand and we went on the field. It was wild. It was so much fun and there was no feeling of danger at all.

@905JimRaynor my parents wouldn't let us go on the field. I had a teacher that got some dirt from the mound.

@@amhelm86 it was 1 of the last times an MLB team allowed fans to "rush the field". I didn't know that at the time.

Dang... it's been 8 years since I commented on this video. i still miss Tom Cheek, but within these 8 years, I got to meet and befriend Jerry Howarth and his wife Mary. They're two of the sweetest people I have ever met.

Shocked that you didn't use the Fergie Oliver version of the 85 clinch.

1989 blue jays beat the orioles at home then 2015 defeated the orioles again this time in Baltimore the funny thing is both wins came on strikeouts

When Tom Cheek announced the first two they were great genuine calls. When Jerry Howarth called the sixth win it was the same again and would guess those guys did great with the other three. Jim Hughson had to pre-rehearse each of his clinchers which was just terrible. I love true emotion and I can see even further why I watched the Stanley Cup on the NBC feed over the CBC feed because of how bad of an announcer and really most modern day announcers are. Back in the day of this Blue Jays dynasty I loved it when it was CTV or CBC that showed the game and not TSN after they got rid of Fergie Oliver.

I never thought Hughson was a bad baseball announcer. Not in Cheek and Howarth's class or even Chevy's but decent enough. Terrible in hockey.

why could'nt we hear Buck and Pat called the games on Sportsnet during last years Blue Jays playoff instead we had to get the fox sports guys some of the game were televised in Canada so we should have gt the sportsnet audio feed instead of the the Fox audio feed

That was the Blue Jays radio feed for the 2015. That voice is Jerry Howarth who has been doing games for 35 years now with the team and a Blue Jay legend!

because the rules are that there's no local broadcasting in the playoffs so they do national television on fox sports

A key (pardon the pun, not a reference to Jimmy Key) to the Blue Jays success in 1985? The stirrups, man! The stirrups! That is how you wear stirrups! Look like a Major Leaguer. Come away with a division title! Plus, those Blue Jays uniforms looked sweet, man! They looked great in Sports Illustrated in 1985. Thinkin' 'bout getting me one of them DeLoreans just to travel back to that time. Stirrups!

From 1994 through 2014 the Jays did not make the playoffs. However, many of those years they had decent teams and Contending teams, just never quite good enough at the end.

1998 (4 GB of wild card) & 2000 (4.5 GB of AL East) were the only years that they were in contention going into the final week. The other years were not contending years.
@Sean-mclaughlin

@@KardiFan2000 I didnt say they were contenders every year. They had a couple years where they hung in there into September and other years when they started hot but faded later on. 2006-2008 was a disappointment after all the moves they made. When I say decent teams I mean over .500 to end the season. Missing the playoffs doesn't mean you're bad. Just not good enough.

Not going to happen again with Atkins and Shapiro. The MLB saw that the Jays had potential in 2015-16 and then they sent Atkins and Shapiro to put us back in the shithole.
