The Buffy videos are so chatty, like you’re not even aware you’re doing ASMR, and yet the mouth sounds, wandering between soft-spoken and whispering, and annunciation are still sooooo good! 😭 I have to watch each part three times to finish it.

I don’t want this Buffy series to end! I could talk about Buffy for hours but don’t really know any fellow fans so these videos are so nice. Season 5 is one of my faves. I tend to rewatch 5 and 6 more than the other seasons but I skip the body because I know it will wipe me out for a couple of days, I can’t imagine what it must be like when it hits so close to home ❤️

I'm so glad to hear that. There are three videos for season 6 so, we've got a lot of good stuff coming still, haha. If if didn't hit so close to home, I definitely would have re-watched season 5 more often as well, it's an incredible season. But even now 14 years after losing my mom it was very difficult to watch.

I'm glad Buffy is getting the appreciation is deserves these days. I used to watch it in High school when it first premiered (I'm old) and it felt special as I went through the process of growing up along with the characters. It forever remains a special show in my heart.

Haha you can't be that old, I watched it in high school too, though Belgian TV was a couple years behind the US at the time. It is such an amazing show and will always be special to me as well. I remember at the time reading that in the US there were college classes taught around the show. And I told everyone this to prove that it is in fact brilliant and that's not just in my head. However now I know there are also college classes about Keeping up with the Kardashians, so it was not the flex I thought it was at the time lol

I really love your analysis about the series and the characters. I used to think it was just a teen show but it's so deep in a lot of subjects and you made me see it that way, so thank you ❤️❤️❤️

Aw I'm glad to hear it. I mean, you can totally appreciate it as a quirky teen show as well, but once you start peeling back the layers it's just sooooo good. Thank you for watching!

I loved "Fool for Love", like of course Spike was a poet in his human life, I mean even as a vampire he still is. Spike intuits everything, he feels everything and expresses those feelings with every interaction, it's one of my favorite things about him and why he's such a great character in my opinion. But like I said in previous comments and you have as well, it's really difficult to balance the fondness I have for his character and the disgust I have with the awful things he's done. Also, I feel like the speech he gives to Buffy about how every Slayer has a death wish but she's just in denial, grimly foreshadows their destructive relationship in season 6.

100%, he sees and feels so much. He notices things about people no one else does. Sometimes he even knows things about people before they know it themselves. It's one of the many things I love about the character. I'm sad that they ruined him and if this was real life, he'd be out of my life without question. But it's not real life, so I can continue to love the character he was, and sort of accept the character he became

@@ASMRvelous No doubt, like for all of his enormous flaws and all of the horrendous shit, I still cried like a baby at the finale of s7.

Youre great. I have another question about the wandering jew plant! Do you know what kind of soil you pot that awesome jew in?
@ASMRvelous
@ASMRvelous 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! My dad says "regular potting soil" lol so, I don't know what to tell you, sorry. I do want to say that since this plant's name is a little iffy, I personally would just use the full phrase when talking about it and not shorten to just the last word. It didn't feel right when I read it

@@ASMRvelous No need for an apology; regular potting soil is actually a great answer because although it’s all google-able, some people have made suggestions other than normal soil that maybe are factored in to why my wandering jew plant hasnt done so well;)! Also i appreciate your looking out for myself and others regarding the jew comment:) being jewish myself i can appreciate it

@@ASMRvelous it is a shame how written languages like english have this kind of transient property when it comes to context, that does not preserve the importance of and relationship with meaning. Im in grad school becoming a teacher for the deaf and sign language is interesting in that way , where communication happens face to face every time so that context is always preserved. Sorry i never meant to make you feel uncomfortable!! Keep shinin✨🧖🏽

I'm glad the answer was a little helpful after all then :). I'm also glad you understand. I'm not Jewish, but I've always been perceived as such, because I fit the stereotypical image that many people have in their heads. Because of this, I have a small inkling of how pervasive antisemitism still is in modern day society, so I just felt I needed to say something. Good luck with your wanderer and your grad degree :)

Please explain the clock change? (By the way, never have watched Buffy but I still enjoy listening to your descriptions! Excellent story telling. )
@ASMRvelous
@ASMRvelous 3 жыл бұрын
Just daylight savings time, when the clock changes by 1 hour in winter to get more light in the mornings. But it gets dark earlier, which means even less time outside for my kitty, and less time to film for me. Thank you for the kind words :)

Hahaha! I'm glad my slip up made someone happy. I would get so stressed when that happened. The first two syllables of my name are a not uncommon word combination in Dutch and my heart rate would spike (lol, Spike) everytime I heard it, lol

I'm also a Spike fan but struggle with that now I'm older and have more insight into relationships (because of the bathroom incident and the buffy bot!) How do you reconcile that about him so you don't hate him like you do Warren and Xander?
@ASMRvelous
@ASMRvelous 3 жыл бұрын
Oh, 100%. At the time I still struggled for a while after Seeing Red, but I was young and obsessed and quicker to accept the redemption arc in season 7. I'm honestly still reconciling my feelings towards the character post season 6. I still have to film the season 7 videos and have NO IDEA how I'm going to do it. But I will never see him in the realms of Warren, who is a sociopath
